Flea, Paralysis Tick And Heartworm Areas

 Share

Recommended Posts

I just looked on the pinned 'tick' topic and it showed that I am in a brown dog tick area. How do I find out whether or not I'm in an area that is noted for paralysis tick [or any tick for that matter] and flea infestations? I want to know so I can make a judgement on whether to change from Advantage to some other wormer.....

Also, want to know which areas are prevalent for heartworm and any other doggie preventable things that I don't know about yet.

TIA

Hi,

How about giving your local vet a ring, they will be able to give you the full details.

Ask local vet . . . and keep asking your local vet. Not sure about ticks, but heartworm incidence and anything mosquito borne will move around from year to year. I think it's safer to assume heartworm IS possible in most of Australia.

Paralysis ticks are mainly in coastal areas from Lakes Entrance up, heartworm is where ever mosquitos are, Most parts of Aussie. Talk to your vet
