Chocolate
Hi, I have a bitch here which has been mated to one of my males but the owner is worried about flying her home as she doesn't want her to terminate pregnancy. It is a 2 hr flight home. Does anyone have any knowledge on when is the best time for a mated bitch to fly?
ellz
The only rules and regulations I can find relate to bitches not being flown if they are more than 6 weeks in whelp. Unless the bitch becomes particularly stressed as a result of flying (in which case she probably would have been so stressed she wouldn't have conceived anyway) there is really no huge danger in flying. I've flown bitches back days after mating or weeks after mating with no issues whatsoever. And also consider those bitches which come into quarantine in whelp. Gretel
Given a choice I prefer to send them fairly soon after mating.
Aziah
I always fly them 48 hours after the final mating...
angelsun
I agree...as soon as done mating is best as thing. Sounds like the owner will be more stressed than the bitch though.
