dee136
I have friends who are looking into getting a dog and after some research they are leaning towards a cocker spaniel. They have looked at all the lists of facts and information, now I'm hoping there are people out there with experience with the breed that can let me know a bit more about them. Quirky traits, personal stories, the negatives, & anything else you feel like sharing. Thanks in advance.

Clyde
Off the top of my head the only negative as such with the breed is the ears - I have a thing about smelly ears, and the grooming (although it's not as bad as some). If they can put up with kisses and an ever wagging back end 24/7 they'll be right I think they are a gorgeous breed, one of the most consistent in that they always come in for their groom with their bums wagging a mile a minute as if 'where's the party?'. They have a very vacant look in their eyes (sorry Cocker peeps) and I often wonder if there's anything going on inside but they are actually bright and very trainable.
