MissyPriss
Thanks everyone for the kind words, i appreciate them all. . Going to bed last night was hard, his toys and blanket were still on the bed from the night before and the cat was looking around for her Miko pillow. I was too. Same with getting up this morning, am so used to his big smiling face looking at me, ready for morning cuddles. That was hard. I just want him back. I know he is safe and happy, but still doesnt stop me wanting him here with me. I miss him so much my heart breaks everytime i remember that hes gone. I have to echo Persephone's post. As hard as it is and how much we miss them, we have to think of their health and well being. And, yes, to have to let a young dog go, is so many more times more difficult.
furballs
missypriss, I read this yesterday and got too upset to respond. I know how you are feeling, it's terribly hard to lose them. Please take some comfort in knowing that you loved Miko and gave him a chance and he may not have had that if he hadn't had you. Miko had more love in his 14 months than many long lived dogs have. You are a wonderful person for taking him on and my thoughts are with you. xoxoxoxoxox
Starkehre
MP, you have been through so much. Please remember to take care of yourself at this sad and draining time. And please take comfort in knowing that Miko would not have had any better chance had he been adopted out elsewhere. He was so lucky to be a failed foster with you. You offered him the very best of chances. It is so sad that he was not in good health. So very hard to be as dedicated to loving Miko as you are to have made the very best decision for him to have his wings. Take your time in grieving. RIP baby boy Miko
kinsella
To me, giving a well-loved pet it's wings is the last true kindness we can show them. That we love them enough to let them go.
