Just wondering who here is entering the Wollongong agility trial on the 23rd of may? I will be there with Kuta and bells on!

I might be there but not entering as we're only beginners and don't think we're up to entering a trial

I train at the wollongong club so might get there to help,we are moving the following week so will have to see how I'm traveling with packing

We got a fault on the weavers in novice agility which was a shame but we had loads of fun. Thats where I train at nowra showground every monday and wednesday. How did you go and what dogs do you run? I talked to so many different peole that day so which one was you skip ? :(

how long have you been training for? I have seen loads of dogs that arnt very good but they have the best time and a great day out with their owners. You should give it a go so long as your dog doesnt run off to every other dog on the field. You have to start somewhere  I will have a navy and yellow shirt on and have 2 staffies. Your more then welcome to come over and have a chat. I will be sitting with a whole lot of bordercollie owners as at our club they are the majority. We are the odd ones out always putting the jumps back down to 300 at training in a class full of 500 dogs. But we love it and dont care :(

Hi staffy lover, I missed Kuta running but I was laughing at your poor blue dog having his say when you left him to run Kuta.

As we were packing up I was saying hello to your dogs and asked about Austin's bare patch on his face/neck. I was dogless then, dressed in blue.

Lucky you running on that lovely ground all the time. I thought the place was lovely and I had a nice day. I only moved to Wollongong a bit over a year ago and haven't travelled round much. Our grounds at South Coast look really sad in comparison.

I have a black mini dog which looks like a small kelpie and a gold chi x foxy. I was very pleased as the chi x is nervous of other dogs but now she is enjoying it more and has more confidence. She was only entered in the novice jumping as I wasn't sure she would run. She was keen and ran pretty solidly thru the course.

In fact she was so keen she beat my mini dog ( slower due to sore paws from slight grass allergy) by 6 sec . They came 7th and 9th overall. I like the ANKC as it seems you can go up in jumping and stay at a suitable level for agility courses. I have only been twice now.

If your dog is mini you must have run with me in agility. My black dog ran a lovely couse and I was pleased he hit both contacts. Pity he ran round the first jump and took the second spread as his first.

And I know how you feel about being the odd height out at training. Gemma is the only regular ADAA toy at our club. Most toys there jump 25 and so do the mini's. I let Gemma jump 25 too but I must stop doing this. Its the same height the mini dogs do so not very helpful.

We don't have that many BC really , its a very mixed pot.

So I will see you at Wollongong. It is at my obedience club grounds. And I will be doing both novice tests again. I hope!

Have entries closed for this trial? Can anyone tell me what journal the schedule is in? I can't find it from a quick look in March which I expected it in, haven't downloaded April.

  • 2 weeks later...

I missed you today staffy lover.

I did see a few staffies have lovely runs. There was a young lady with a dog that looks like Kuta who did very well. But I didn't see your other dog ( the blue boy) so wasn't sure if you were there?

Hope that was you cause your dog worked really nicely.

I was looking for you too...and like Skip, was looking for your blue boy to identify you. Hope you did well & had a great day.

I didnt take Austin he would have been crying in his crate all day and I needed some girl time. We came 2nd in novice agility! yay. I got a bit cranky at Kuta though in jumping cause she just wandered off sniffing but it was my fault I have come to realise because I had her out for so long before hand. She had done all her playing and exciting stuff with me before the run and decided that sniffing was more important then running when our turn came up but later in the day I ignored her right up until it was our turn and she worked beautifully! I was so happy. And she did the weavers perfectly as well yay! I learnt a valuble lesson at the trial: All the playing before hand that I thought was reving her up was actually fun and rewarding for her so I have to save that for after the run. All in all a great day!

It was a great trial, I LOVED the veterans & so did my old boy. He had a big smile on his face  . Hopefully we can meet at the next one :mad

Hi Staffy Lover, sorry I didn't get to say hi, come and say hi next time :) Yep running 3 all in different things makes for a very busy trial  hopefully it will be better if Anna ever gets to Masters with Raffy, less courses to walk and remember :mad

I loved the veterans event, the old dogs all looked so happy to be in the spotlight again

Anyone else here doing Goulburn next weekend? :D
