Loving my Oldies
I came across an old issue of Urban Animal and wondered why I'd kept it. Flipped through and found out why. A fantastic article written by Pat Miller on Mythbusting. Some of the myths regularly come up on DOL and so I thought the article was be very useful for people. I have checked with Urban Animal and can post a link here to their magazine and the article, but can't post the article, so please no one break the copywrite regulations A copy of the email to me from Urban Animal just to reinforce my request to people not to copy any part of the article onto this forum. Thanks for your feedback. As a copyright issue you are welcome to put up the link to our site but not to copy onto a forum website. We're not the original owners of the article but paid Pat for the rights to reprint. http://www.urbananimal.net/pdf/issue17/16_mythbusting.pdf

sandgrubber
As I scientist, I didn't like it. I agree with much of what she says. But she says things fail on the 'scientific' test without offering any evidence. Some of the 'hypotheses' posed are quite hard to test. Eg, how do you test if a prong collar 'works' by mimicing a mother dog's disciplining of a pup. As for the 'acid' test . . . load of whooie. It's just the pseudo science test plus your own prejudices. Good advice. But deceptive packaging.
