teekay
Mya had a bout of diarrhea a few days ago so it was starvation again for a day then she had chicken and rice yesterday and today. Problem now is she hasn't poo'd for 2 days. The last time she went was 1am on Monday morning. I've just spent the last hour walking round the garden with her but still nothing. I've given up now, I'm shattered and want to go to bed. Should I worry? She is eating fine and is happy enough. I presume if she had some kind of blockage there would be other symptoms? I shall do cartwheels in the morning if she manages to produce something. I shall even be happy if she wakes me up in the middle of the night to go out. Erny
I can't really answer you on a professional basis, but I can tell you that when my boy has had the runs, it can be the 3rd day before he poops again (assuming poop has become normal). I'd not lose sleep over it tonight and just watch for it tomorrow.
teekay
Thanks Erny, I can go to bed and not stress too much tonight now. I will keep watching tomorrow
all that glitters
Yep when Shyla had bouts of diarrhea I would give her chicken and rice and it would 'bulk' her up and she wouldn't go for 24-48hrs and when she did go next it would be formed
Scarlet
Completely non medical opinion but if the stomach/ intestines / bowel are empty would it take a few days for it to get to the (full) stage before it need to be emptied.
corvus
As the veteran of about half a dozen minor bowel blockages, when they are straining and nothing is coming out. You know about it when something isn't right. They cry when they try to go. And they keep trying, and keep whining, and it's pretty freaking obvious they are in pain. He's ok today. Still no happy dance from me, but Mya is still fine and her tummy is nice and soft so I still play the waiting game. May ring the vets in the morning if nothing happens tonight, just for my peace of mind. Cheers
