Dried On Poop

Badger has some dried poo on the side of his leg in the fur, he had it when I picked him up from the airport but he had no poo in his crate so it must have been from that morning.

Been trying to get it off but it's caked on. Tried wetting and rubbing it, doesn't work.

Is there anything else I could use? Apart from cutting it out as I don't think his fur is long enough to do that. Or just pretend it's the start of some more liver colouring!

Thanks for the replies. The weather will be warmish today, warmest it's been this week, so I will give him a bath and hopefully it will disappear!

I was at Cape Lavender [swan Valley version] and they had a great lavender oil based shampoo for dogs which was recommended for dogs with sensative skin. I could not afford to get it yesterday so am going back next Monday to pick some up. They also had lavender soap for dogs.

try a bucket of warm water outside and just use a sponge to soap the poop so it becomes soft enough to wash off with some shampoo

I wonder if it really is poo? I would expect poo to dry and crumble like mud and just brush out of a short pointer coat. Do you think he might have gotten something else on his leg before he got in the crate to be transported to you? Something like wet cement? I've never heard of stubborn poo in a short coat!

I was going to say similar to BL, it really doesnt sound like poo. My first thought was maybe some how hes brushed up against some paint? I know kite got paint on her once and it was a b*tch to get off.

I'd be doing as the others have said give him a nice warm bath and give it a good soak and scrub with a sponge and fingers crossed whatever it is comes right off!
