Lola Pug Is In Surgery...

She's really slowed down over the past few months, so after bloods and wee came back clear the vet decided that her throat needs to be looked at properly. Apparently with age, tendons slacken and her trachea may be a bit floppy and/or her soft palate may have dropped down a bit, obstructing her breathing and making her feel a bit crappy.

Apparently surgery would've started around 11am, just a look at first to see what it's like in there. If it's not too bad, they will correct it today. If it's bad, then she'll have to see a specialist. So can everyone think 'not-too-bad-throat' thoughts please :(

Thanks for all the thoughts! :(

Not sure yet Sammy. She should have to stay overnight (at the very least) for monitoring. It just depends on the severity of the surgery.

My Cavalier girl had something similar...but it turned out to be that her tonsils were 4 times bigger than they should have been, and with "changing" cells. So out they came!

They also found that she had a slight extra fold in her trachea but now since she has lost a bit of weight, that is much better too

She has been really good since, and she is much brighter.

Didn't stop her eating. She stayed in overnight with at the specialist centre, as she also has a slight heary murmur.

Hope all is well with Lola
