Blakbelgian
Hi All, I saw some where that some breeders have tried ELEVIT on their bitches but then I couldn't find it again to see if they had any results. Has anyone here tried it on their bitches? Do you think it increased their fertility? You can PM me if you wish to. Thanks BB
TashaBailey
It was recommended to me by my vet for my Sheltie girl when we had a lot of bleeding around 2.5 to 3 weeks post mating. Kept her on it right throughout the pregnancy and we ended up with 5 pups ( 4 surviving). TB
Blakbelgian
Thanks for that TashaBailey. I would of thought more breeders would of had an opinion about this product. BB
ellz
I've never tried it. Actually, have never considered trying it. Dogs are dogs. Humans are humans. They require different balances of hormones to attain the same result. I'd have to investigate a LOT further before I would feel comfortable offering an opinion. Sorry. Blakbelgian
Thank you for your opinion Ellz. I saw it mentioned somewhere and thought I would get the opinions of breeders here. I haven't tried it, on me or the dog. BB
Ashanali
elevit is just a multi-vitamin with extra folate, not a hormone. Yes, dogs need different vitamins to humans in different strengths but what's in elevit isn't going to hurt a dog. I have been known to give my girls multi-vitamins if they aren't big eaters. ellz
Not for one minute did I think it would hurt a dog. I just query the value in paying for an expensive human product that may, or may not do anything for a species for which it isn't actually "intended". I still won't offer an opinion either way though because I've not tried it and really have no intentions of doing so.
