Jesterbelle
I have tried people insect repellent, animal fly repellent. Smothering ears with vaseline all to no avail, any suggestions or tips of anything that is effective, would be most appreciated.
Janba
A drop of one of the spot on flea controls put on the end of the ear seems to keep them away.
Kelpie-i
My GSD who's now gone to Rainbow Bridge would suffer from fly bites on his ears. Not every year though which was odd. I used Rid repellant cream each morning and re-apply in the afternoon which helped keep the nasty buggers away from him. Worked a treat! Very interesting Janba...I wish I'd know about that one earlier!

KitKat
I just use Advantix - keeps the fleas, mozzies and flies away Muscaban is great too - but for my fluffy GSD's it just glugged up their ear fur!
