Elfin
Does anyone know where I can purchase wide, strong high visibility (eg. flouro & reflective) collars for giant breed dogs? TIA
WreckitWhippet
I saw some the other day but can't think where
Elfin
I have seen photos of hunting dogs overseas wearing big wide bright orange collars, with a reflective strip on each edge. Can't find them on the net, though.
WreckitWhippet
Get Huga to make you some, she might do them for you.
Kirislin
Ruthless makes gorgeous leather ones with reflectors that look like jewels on them, very pretty and functional.

moosepup
Rogz makes reflective collars but I've only looked at Chihuahua sized ones. I will check if they have giant breed ones next time I'm at the shop.
OSoSwift
I made mine out of webbing and reflective tape. Only have a plastic buckle though. A person who makes collars should be able to run a few up for you. Try Huga
IngeK
I made them myself once with a reflector band what joggers wear around their arm at night. It has those led lights in them to and I attached it with velcro to the normal dogs nylon collor.
Sagittarian
PM me a neck size. Apart from the Rogz range which do have suitable sizes and are reflective, I have a new brand with a decent buckle and reasonable wide. Happy to measure them. Mas1981
I got a fluoro green one at my IGA, it was as bright as anything until I soaked it in Napisan as it got dirty very easy.
Elfin
Thank you all for your suggestions. What I am after is wide (I mean 3-4 inches wide) and they look like they are made of fabric similar to seat-belts, but bright orange, so visibility is high during the day. The reflective strips on the edges is just a bonus. Hunters overseas use them to spot their dogs in heavily wooded areas. I have three dark grey dogs that just "disappear" into the background sometimes (eg. in dense bushland). They do not necessarily need strong buckles, as they will have other collars to clip their leads to. Sorry... I am being picky...
macka
Is this what you mean? Found here: http://deepsouthhogdogsupply.com/id33.html You could also use vests if it is just for visbility? ETA: they seem to come up more if you search for pig hunting dog collars Reflective Neck Collars Another Bright Orange Collar Edited April 2, 2010 by macka
Elfin
That's the sort of thing I am after... Thank you, macka! Still giggling at my woosie Deerhounds being all trussed up like "Deep South Hog Dogs" ;)

Guest bigdogg
http://www.tuffcanvas.com/yard-collar.html - they have some really tough yard collars that are that bright orange colour.. at night i use LED lights.. Super bright and can be seen from a long distance.. Good idea to put them on the side of the collar or underneath - seriously too bright.. http://www.canineperfection.com.au/index.p...dian-led-lights
