Kirislin
wow, thanks Ash, not sure if you've mentioned my pics before, they're usually pretty ordinary. I will go back and crop it a bit more, I wanted to keep the tiny wasp in the pic, it is in the upper left. edit OK I ditched the wasp. Cropped alot off, please tell me if this still fits the rule of thirds Edited April 6, 2010 by Kirislin
gspx3
I think this one is right. No cropping - it's just as it came from the camera. I like it anyway.
Ashanali
Kirislin - spot on. Note that it is now more calming on the eye when viewing it and you tend to let your eyes wander through the whole image and back to the ball (which is the focal point). GSPX - also good

Ashanali
Don't stress about it being the same subject over and over. The aim of the challenges is to 'see' the images before you shoot. You're doing well with your thirds - that is the important thing
huga
Not sure if this one is right or not, Lola is in the middle, but I was thinking about the way the grass and the tree is split.

I know - I'm picking up a new foster this afternoon, so will have a new subject She's a very pretty blue fawn - they look amazing in the late afternoon sun - so get ready! Kirislin - love those shots - the colours and depth are great. Edited April 9, 2010 by anniek
piper
I don't often post in the challenges but I always check them out and if I pick up the camera (not nearly as often as I should) I always try and rememebr the current challenge and shoot something with it in mind, so even if I don;t post it does inspire me Yesterday I went to Adelaide Zoo and was happily snapping away when I remembered that it is rule of thirds this month, which is ok as I tend to use it a lot anyway. Here are some that I got - not as many as I would have liked but I was supervising a holiday care group of 45 kids as well! This 1 was through wire so I was extra pleased as I managed to blur the wire out and keep her in focus Dappled light and pands do not go welll together, whites, blacks, shadows, bright light and with looking after the kids I was having to be quick so mostly used auto, these had a tweek in lightroom to help the exposure. I don;t know what I did to this 1 in lightroom, I think adjusted it the wrong way. I am sure it was not that overexposed?

piper
The meerkat is really cute I post the same old all the time too. Sorry Your photos always have so much feeling. They look like they had a good time, I imagine the clean up was not so much fun though, lol.
huga
Thank you The clean up is still going on I just found some paint on my elbow. The bath was completely green, so I emptied it and they had another one. Not too bad. The hardest part was not letting them touch anything as we made our way through the house.
