GoldenGirl85
In humans blood in the urine can indicate kidney issues, I imagine dogs would be the same, get him straight to the vets
Chocolatelover
Possibly a UTI but if left untreated can cause kidney problems. Definitely vet - and let breeder know straight away. Good luck with your pup.

poodlefan
Ok I will get the puppy to the vet very soon. It's a good idea to take any new pup to your vet for a check out anyway. I'd be doing this today or tomorrow - don't delay.
GoldenGirl85
Ok I will get the puppy to the vet very soon. If you can try and get a sample to take into the vets, but make sure anything you collect and store the sample in is sterilised first, otherwise it will be contaminated with god knows what sort of bacteria. They will probably want you to get a sample anyway, so if you can already get it thats the best way. You can get already sterilised containers from chemists and pathology collection centres. cavNrott
Urinary tract infection. Pop him along to the vet ASAP because those darn things are really painful. If you can't manage to collect a sample don't worry too much, the vet will take one.
becks
Could be anything from an infection to a sign of liver shunt or kidney issues. Best to get it checked out asap.

:ange:
What colour is his urine?? My bitch had severe issues with blood in her urine as a pup but I mean BLOOD this is what her urine looked like for almost 6 months.. She was never properly diagnosed with an issue apart from 'idiopathic juvenile renal haemorrhaging' which the vets tried using big fancy words instead of saying 'yeah your dog is bleeding from the kidney but we don't know why..' LOL we spent ALOT of money looking for a diagnosis which never came but it ended up resolving itself.. I agree with everyone else, try and get a CLEAN sample of urine and take in to the vet (use a clean soup ladle) and take your pupp to the vets ASAP! Let us know how you go!! nicolatu
The vet says that it is most likely to be urinary tract infection. The vet gave me some anti biotics for the puppy to eat and observe his wee. The vet say to collect an urine sample after he finish his medication. Hope he is all right by next week. His urine is red but not as red as your bitch's but the vet says there are quite a lot of blood in his wee. Nic
Guest Willow
Poor little mite Remember to use all of the antiobiotics, and finish the whole course, even if he appears better before he has finished them. Hope he feels better soon!!!
