She could always just call her son *boy!* LOLOLOL

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I really dont know but i will try not to get my hopes up just incase we arent suitable...and my son asked when they left if he could keep the dog because he loved him a million times lol

I have no idea on names..i am on google now looking at ideas hehe

better go cook dinner...i will speak to you all soon :D

I don't know what sort of name you are after but a lot of CKCS owners call their boys 'Charlie'. If breed name is used, I'd rather 'King' as that's the sort of royal life I believe he will have with you!!!

Seriously so glad that the meet and greet went so well - your gut instinct is obviously doing a GREAT job!! So happy for youand I hope you hear about the trial soon!

+1

My dairy farmer uncle had a great working dog called Pete. When my cousin was born, he was named Peter - but as long as the dog was alive, was always referred to as Peter-boy, since the dog had the name first.

Glad it all went well Italimum !

Any news from the breeder yet??

We had to wait a whole afternoon for Joey's breeder to get back to us, but then she had been busy at a show that day as well :thanks:

We still had to wait a few weeks after she said yes, to get him, as she wanted to come and see our place and to say her goodbyes (it was so sad)

Let the dog keep the name.

My experience with having 3 sons aged 11, 12 and 18 is that the dogs are more likely to respond when they're called anyway.

:thanks: we have The Girlchild and The Boychild here!!!:confused:

I think a one month trial is a very reasonable solution. It gives you a chance to settle in with him without second guessing if you have done the right thing, takes the pressure off. Of course it will all be just fine. ;)

PS. My younger Cav is Crystal but she get called Crissy AND Crystal. Answers to both !

Oh thats fantastic !! wohooo!

I think a month's trial is a good idea, for both your family, and the breeder !

I love his name btw, it fits in with the timing of you meeting him (Easter!), not that I am overly religious LOL but I can see that it would get confusing with your son's name being the same ;-)

I know one with the same name, but with a K, not C and h..

Please keep us updated ! ;)

I've known a few people who changed their "adopted" dogs names because they didn't want the name it came with.

I think the key to changing is to choose a name with a similar tone and sylable amount.

For eg. Banchee became Mandy.

Cristian became Tristan

Lara became Tara

Bandit became Gambit

I adopted a "name unknown" bitch and she answered to "Here Girl" so I called her "Gyrle".

Good Luck and have fun.
