Flea Collars

Haven't used one of those for decades, but way back when (we didn't have half the stuff we have now, to ward off fleas) they seemed to help make a difference. Only thing is that it can be an irritant around the dog's neck, as can any chemical. Other than this, I don't know much about them. I was only a kid when we had one on our dog and that was way when we simply trusted drug companies, vets, retail outlets etc. etc. without question.

Flea collars work if your desired affect is to push all the fleas to the dog's back end but not die! This is all they do. they dont actually kill fleas. and i find it makes dogs itchier because of all the chemicals. (from my grooming experience...)

Since I've started using tick collars on mine haven't seen any fleas either . They work for ticks for 6 weeks and supposed to work for fleas for 5 months. Have never left them that long though to test. I'm in a high tick area so change every 6-8 weeks. Works out a lot cheaper than any of the spot-ons I used to use.
