Ravyk
My FMIL got married about a month back. For those who remember, she asked me to do photography but I declined on the fact I was the only one. She grudgingly hired a professional photographer and I did some amateur shots on the day. She has asked me to email some photos to her so she can show people, but I don't know what the best size would be, nor how many to send. I took about 100 of the ceremony and have edited 21 of those. I plan on printing out the 21 and putting them in an album for her, along with a CD with the edited photos on it.
16Paws
It depends on what she wants to do with the photos, if either of you have any restrictions on your email accounts (ie. file size limits) and what size monitor and resolution she is using on her computer. At a screen res of 1280 x 1024 you won't want to exceed 900 x 900px. Edited March 23, 2010 by 16Paws
Ravyk
They are more so she can show people who didnt attend the wedding. I'm thinking 800x600?
16Paws
I think that would be fine. I saw a few of the photos in you're other topic, they look very nice Alternatively, if you have the time and inclination you could upload the photos to one of the free photo/gallery sites (i.e. picasa) and just send her the link. Then her friends can add comments, etc.
kja
Resize em to be 100kbs or so each. I email long edge 650 or 700ish and move my quality slider to make the file the size I want it. Usually I'm at about 60-66%. More than fine for viewing on the computer. Make sure you are saving in sRGB. Uploading to a gallery and then sending the link is a great idea - I'd still use the same settings.
Ravyk
Thanks guys Re. the gallery, normally I would upload them to my website gallery but it's currently down as our server packed up a little while ago and OH hasn't got the galleries up and running again.
