Red Fox
I'm after a reasonably strong flat collar to use as a back up to my training collar but also occasionally use on it's own. I currently have a nice 2" thick leather collar which I trust 100% but sometimes it's a bit much. I also have a 3/4" Blackdog collar which is nice and soft, good for rego tags too, but with the plastic clip I just dont trust it to use on it's own. So I'm looking for a happy medium between the two. I was planning on just getting a 1" leather buckle collar (from Leerburg or Mendota) but just came across these: Collars Doublebraided made by Mendota USA http://www.trenigens.com.au/doublebraidedcollar-p-35.html They look good and would be much more suitable than leather for going down to the river. But does anyone know how strong they are? I also found them with an extra ring at the back http://www.prok9supplies.com/pages/product....php?prodID=627 not sure if that would make a difference though? Does anyone use these collars? and what do you think of them? Thanks

Clyde
Ruthless makes very sturdy leather collars. Perhaps PM her to see some pics. I was in Pets in the City in NEutral Bay the other day and they had a fab new line of collar. They were marine grade and in nice colours, very sturdy looking without being OTT. I'm pretty sure they sell online so perhaps give them a call? eta: Found them! http://www.petsinthecity.com.au/Welcome.html They are on the front page in the bright colours with bone shaped buckles. They felt kind of like shipping rope. Edited March 22, 2010 by Clyde

I've seen some pics of Ruthless' collars here before, they are lovely ;) I'm actually leaning towards getting a non leather collar at the moment though as it would be much better for around the river. I'll check out the link :p
