Simba Needs To Wee More On Macrolone. Is This Normal?

Simba needs to wee a lot more since he has been taking macrolone tablets.

I think this is a side effect of macrolone.

Is this right? Anyone else had the same thing happen?

Yep, correct. It makes them thirsty, thus needing to pee more too. Can also make them hungrier too.

As above, if you can, give it in the morning unless you have a twice a day schedule - If so then try and give it early evening unless you wish to be woken up to let your dog outside (assuming your dog does sleep inside).

ETA; make sure there is plenty of fresh water available.

MIne gets his in the morning for exactly that reason, although he does get up during the night it is no where near as often as it would be if he had his pred at night.

Yep, your Vet shouldn't have told you that as well as they usually feel more hungry too.

That's good. I usually give Simba his tablet in the morning

I'm giving him 2 meals a day, so he shouldn't be too hungry!

I have to halve his meals, though as he needs to keep his weight down.

He is 30kgs at the moment. I would like him to be between 27-30kgs.

Also is diarrhoea a common side effect of macrolone?

Simba has had the squirts all day today.

I had to wash his bum and feet off after work.

He is going to the vet tommorow.
