Guide Dog Puppy Raising

Hi,

I would just like to hear from anyone who has had experience with puppy raising for guide dogs (NSW). I would especially like to know your thoughts and experiences on giving the pup up at the end of the 12 months. Also, is is diffucult to be accepted into the program adn how long does it take?

Ive looked into it a couple of times, but it wasnt for me

a) the first time I lived in NSW, but not in Sydney

b) I now live in Brisbane, but you need to have the dog with you for most of the day, and my job would only allow me to have the dog with me on occasion (I sometimes work on oncology wards at hospitals and there is that risk of infection for them)

I think it would be very fulfilling, but it would be very hard to give the dog back at the end of the 12 months
