Quick & Easy Grooming Solution

I've ordered some Plush Puppy OMG spray but it won't arrive for another few days, and I'm wondering whether there is a solution I can make up, perhaps from human products or natural stuff, that I can use while I give Luuka a big groom? I bought a fine tooth comb (have ordered a better quality one from petnetwork as well) because she needs her puppy fluff combed out, the situation is getting desperate :o

I have a spray bottle to use, and every human product under the sun ..... I have a serious product addiction.....

Can anyone help?

Just put some conditioner and water in the spray bottle and give it a shake? I wouldn't own Pantene but I have some Stefan stuff that I was given for free and haven't used, I'll try that.

So true. I was recommended the OMG by another lappie owner so I thought I'd give it a try, but I only bought the small size just in case. Happy to try a few things to see what works best.

Probably another silly question but if I get 'black' shampoo on Luuka's tan and white bits, will that matter? I can't imagine that there is actual colouring in the shampoo because that wouldn't be allowed in showing...?

The coloured shampoos CAN leave some coats very dry so try getting a test sample.

Depending on how old the dog is natural coat colour change will occur with a red tinge but basically keeping out of the sun as much as possible is best.

As for the PP range i do use the reviva coat & swear by that

I use Reviva Coat on my Whippets after a bath, it gets the coat sitting nice and flat with no greasyness, and nice and shiney.

I also have used it on a red Kelpie with a very dry sunbleached coat and it helped a lot with that one.

I did read on the container you can water it down and use it as a grooming spray for brushing out without snapping coat.

No, it's a mousse. So I just rub a small amount in my hands and then rub it through. I love Plush Puppy Products, my favourite is the blow dry creme - it smells a bit like Ponds moisturiser.

eta: A lot of products go mouldy watered down so make sure you make a fresh batch each week if you use this method : )

Ooooooh that sounds pretty! Would that work on double coated dogs? :coffee:

Yes but I'd not be putting it on a dog for a show. The judge will end up with it all over their hands.

Some folk use it sparingly to highlight dog's features but you'd need to have a very steady hand.

Another one for PP products here  The Reviva Coat is great, I just use it straight too.

I also love the Coat Rescue and I put a mix of their conditioner, seabreeze oil and swishy coat in his final rinse - the dog has more product than I do

Ohh and the Pixie Dust is fantastic, I put it on my clients dogs who have kids they just love it :(

I know what you mean, I have whippets and a Stafford.

I have multiple PP products for them (yep 'cause they have HEAPS of hair!), where does my shampoo come from?????? The middle of the ranger supermarket stuff, no salon products for me :)

Anyone used their Sunscreen? Can you use it as sun block on unpigmented noses/testicles?

From the website:

This wonderful spray on coat protector is enough to repel most of the sun's potential for damage. Apply each morning, if needed. Just a light wipe over with your hand to spread it evenly and the dog will be protected. Sunshade is also good for dogs that get sunburned skin. Just apply and wipe thoroughly around the areas that require protection. This is a nice light product. It is an intensive sun screen and moisturiser with a good protective factor. To remove just shampoo as usual - it is soluble in water.
