sallyandtex
;) We have twin 5 month old kelpies. Trying to spend time separately. That is, one amused whilst some training with the other. Got a medium Kong (expensive bit of plastic!) Won't the peanut butter get stuck up the end? I'm not organised enough to remember to freeze the night before (plus I have two to entertain at different times, I guess I'll have to spend another $20). (Having 2 kids, 2 cats, 2 dogs and a hungry husband) Any SIMPLE other suggestions besides the peanut butter? Got pigs ears, but they eat 'em up pretty quick! (i'm going broke ;) ) Thanks
16Paws
Plenty of suggestings here... http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...065&hl=kong http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...850&hl=kong http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...449&hl=kong Personally we seal up the pointy end with a little bit of peanut butter than throw in a handful of their dry food with a few other tasty treats added (ie. tiny bits of cheese), fill with water an freeze. Red Fox
Cream cheese spread and a Kong biscuit or some broken up bits of dried liver if I'm in a hurry. You could try smearing a little canned food in there and a handful of dry as something easy. Or a bit of cheese then whack it in the microwave for a few second to get the cheese to melt and stick to the side (make sure it's cool before you give it to the dog. Kong puppy paste is good - but expensive. Mince meat is another option, as are any suitable left overs that you might have in the fridge. Honey, vegemite, chicken necks/wings..... Get yourself one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Bamboo-Kong-Dog-Toy...228129001r12659 if you are having trouble cleaning the bits out from the top. As for the dogs, they will get it out - dont worry about that
Cazwah
lite philly cream cheese is a hit, use part of their daily ration of food and pack it in real tight, and/or squeeze a round slice of carrot in the big end (with food deeper down)- this keeps my pup very dedicated on the kong =)

Did the peanut butter, but Sally only licked it when we held it for her. Tex is SCARED of the Kong, won't go near it!
