Next dog will be a Smooth collie pup from a reputable registered breeder. Maybe in about 10 years, if this does not work out I think I will be adopting a senior dog (medium/ large breed of any kind just the one that wins my heart. )

ETA I am seriously thinking of a poodle pup in the future. This is entirely because of what I have read on DOL as it was not a breed I had ever considered. When I do those match owner to breed questionnaires it always comes up with a poodle.

:D :) In my humble opinion, you couldn't do better (not that I'm at all biased :) )

All my future dogs will be senior rescue's.

I have always had dogs from the pound plus one from rescue and they are all priceless.

Would love another Stafford, will always have a cattle dog and a greyhound is a must!! :D

I have 3 rescue dogs and a purebred from a registered breeder, who also happens to be listed on DOL. DOL has certainly influenced my decision on where to source dogs from.

My next dog will be a purebred pup from a registered breeder and I hope to start showing :D I know the breeder and her dogs well, and am waiting for a pup from a particular mating, and since the bitch in question is not 12 months old yet I will be waiting round 2-3 years.

our next one will be a GSP Rescue Senior - some oldie that needs a warm spot to lie down and a comfy bed to sleep on.

We have 2 young dogs (21mths and 4 mths) so we will have years ahead of us trialing and being energetic with them and I always wanted to adopt a oldie and after meeting and seeing the work of breed rescue my mind was made up, my OH is in complete agreement (there's always room under the gazebo for an oldie to snooze)

Having just welcomed our first ever purebred pup - a gorgeous bloodhound - who is great with our kelpie (from a pet shop before I knew better) our next dog - which will not be for a long time - will be a rescue greyhound - my dream dog - as the bloodhound is my husbands dream dog. Would like to foster eventually too when my kids are older.

DOL has had a huge influence on me and I am so much more informed now

My next one will probably come from a pound (Kurri, Port Stephens, or Wyong), although it won't be for a while as I'm pretty well filled up here & will be for a few more years.

I'd imagine the new one will be a pup/young adult & most likely a kelpie.

Ah PM, you beat me to it. I was going to say a Smoothie pup is an excellent choice. Although with you both, I'm also a Poodle fan, especially those leggy Standards - one day, but not my next pup.

This will probaly be me too. I also have 2 young dogs (bit older than yours NOW, but I remember when they were that age.... ) of 3 and 4 yrs. I'd love to adopt an older male vizsla. so many out there need rehoming. OH says no more dogs..... but we'll see.... I'd LOVE a bracco, standard poodle, affenpinscher, portugese, boston, greyhound, cattle dog, lakelands or welshies, wire viz, more spinone, foxhound, and many dogs that are not in aust yet. I'd also love to show again, so maybe would get a pup in the future. Just have to ditch the OH! :D

There are many breeds I would still love to have, but I'm too bloody old and they would outlive me! DOL has not influenced me at all, I was showing in the 70s and had purebred dogs for since I was born. Also have had many homeless dogs etc., taken on friends dogs when they have had to give them up for some reason, all sorts.

My girlchild and her BF are going OS again next year, he has a BC who we had looked after on and off for years, part of the family. so it looks like we will be back to 3 dogs for a couple of years or so anyway.

So, Poodlefan!! Spill :) :D come one, you want a vizsla dont you! you can tell me :D :)

I think my next dog will definately be a rescue. DOL has totally changed my opinion of where pets "should" come from (this is after working for 8 1/2 years in for a pet store - DOL made me question what the hell I was doing in that industry and encouraged me to persue what I do now and LOVE!!). Now, as a vet nurse working for a Vet who does a lot of work for various rescue groups, I haver a totally different outlook on animal ownership (or being owned by animals :) ).

My next dog will be a puppy from a reputable breeder, who may or may not be listed on DOL. Probably 1-2 years away. Breed still mostly undecided although I really want a tri coloured male beagle to call Burt  or a female to call Betsy. LOL :bottom:

Being on DOL has influenced where I get my dogs from in that being on DOL has really enforced the importance of buying from a good breeder.

My next dog will be a pup, hopefully from friends in Cooma, but more than likely they will have stopped by then. If not, I'm sure we will be able to find a good Field Spaniel breeder - one who breeds for the right reasons. As good as Jindi is now and how harder it would have been to get an 8 week old pup, it has been a little harder due to her shyness.

Mine will only ever be ANKC registered dogs and bitches, they may or may not come from breeders that list on DOL. I can't say DOL has influenced my decisions, however it has introduced me to a couple of wonderful breeders and I have dogs and bitches bred by them.

Puppy from a registered breeder with the ANKC, not listed on dol. :grouphug:

Being on Dol hasn't changed whether I want pedigree or rescue. But has made me stop and tel family/friends not to buy from pet shops.
