Kirty
I had to go to the local vet this evening, and they were running puppy preschool while I was there. Guess what? Not one oodle in sight! In fact, every puppy was a purebred! There was a Berner, Cav, Visla, Chi, Am Staff and a Golden.

poochmad
Sorry to be a cynic, but I'd be very suprised if people are 'catching on'. If anything I think the popularity of these cross breeds is increasing rather than decreasing.
Elfin
Opposite at the local park tonight: 3 x Deerhounds 2 x obese whippets 1 x poodle x lab 1 x poodle x cocker 1 x terrier x 1 x mastiff x 1 x poodle x schnauzer (attempting to mate with all of the above)
Kirty
Bet the Deerhounds were the cutest dogs there!! And Elfin, I assume you took full advantage of the horny oodle? Get a free mating and sell the pups for $$$$!! Doodlehounds, perhaps?

Bindii
I'm guessing it probably wasn't the local vet that i work at We're rolling in oodles.

Bindii
We had a 4 year old Elkhound in today though.. that wasn't an oodle... and it was very exciting!!
cassie
Hahaha yeah I remember taking my furkids to puppy preschool and having to weigh them at the start of each lesson. The rest of the class consisted of Malt x Shih's and Oodles who would put on 200g or so a week, my guys were putting on 2-3kg!
JulesP
I had 5 oodles in my last class. They were all fairly nutso too. Don't think there was one in Amber's class though.
Kirty
Hmm so maybe its just my suburb! LOL! We do seem to have a lot of purebreds around here. I saw someone walking a Saluki the other day - not a dog you see everyday.
MavericksMission
6 out of the 8 pups in Maverick's Puppy Preschool were oodles! I can't talk because both on my dogs are cross breeds.. But.. they are shelter dogs! Not "designer" oodle dogs! I have a Koolie Cross Husky - Hector and a Malamute Cross Border Collie - Maverick I love them to bits! In no way do I support backyard breeders or the breeding of "designer dogs" I think saving a life in a shelter is okay tho.. I know there are probably a lot of people that don't agree tho.. each to there own!
Jed
I think it depends on where you live, and maybe what time it is!! On the way home from work, I regularly see a liver and white cocker, a black cocker, a mini poodle, a golden, a black and a yellow lab, and a few other purebreds, including what I think is a pure JRT. A few ks down the road, there are mutts walking - brown ones, cattle dog ones, staffy crosses. A bit further, looks like oodles to me. I have often wondered why, and would love to see the demographics of the areas - just coz I'm nosy. and I am sure there are more DD than purebreds over all. Nice to see some purebreds though. megan_
Most of the dogs at my local park are purebreds (some are ex-showies) or rescue terrier x's. There are 5 mini poodles, a few GSP's. vislas, BC's. labs, a vallhund (sp) and a keeshond.

I don't think there is anyone on here MM that wouldn't agree with your statement above I guess in my area 95% of the dogs aren't walked sadly :D But of those who are I'd say its about 50/50 with most of the pures being labs, and GSDs and Spitz breeds ;) when I took Mr Darcy to puppy preschool the dogs were all pure (except one) but only my dog and a Daschund was from a registered breeder. PoppyDog
There was a mix at the Puppy Preschool I took Poppy (my 14 week old CKCS X) to on Monday night. We had one Lab breeder there with a puppy of hers (not sure why she came tbh!), two other Lab X, a pure Pug and a pure husky. I don't think any were from reg breeders. The Lab breeder who was there mentioned that they had bought their 12 week old pup to the session that had started 4 weeks ago. So I wondered how fast they were producing puppies.
