Storm Damage

When Toby was in a cast that young the vets didn't clip his nails in between cast changes, it sounds stupid but the pressure ended up making his dew claw dig into his flesh and he now has a splayed foot and nails that over a year on I still have trouble getting to a decent length.

Poor thing. She doesn't have a cast at this age - just a scaffold and bandaging. And her rear leg - so good thing no dew claws there :-). But I'll remind them about her normal nails.

Poor girl, such a terrible thing to happen, and to 2 legs, send her cuddles from me - the insurance is great isn't it, you never expect anyone will need it but just goes to show accidents can happen.

When my 1st Poodle broke her front leg (at around 16 weeks) I also gave her calcium supplements - the Vet seemed to think this helped the leg to heal correctly. It was just a fluke, originally, I had 2 litters of kittens at the time who were getting calcium supplement so Rana got it added to her food as well!
