Putting Puppy In Crate

Hi I am new to this forum, hoping that someone out there can give me some advice  I have a 14 week old Staffy, she has been sleeping in a bed in the laundry, still wakes a couple of times a night and I take her outside to toilet, she carries on a bit after I put her back to bed and wakes up around 5.30 in the morning. I have been thinking of putting her in a crate for night time, having read a lot of positive things about dog crates, to see if she is a little more settled. My OH won't let her sleep in our bedroom, would it be a good idea to put the crate out in the family room and sleep out there with her until she gets used to it, and then eventually move her back to the laundry? The laundry is right next to the kids bedrooms. Or would I be better off to try to keep her in the laundry as that is where she has been since we got her. Help, I need to settle this puppy of mine so I can get some sleep!

Laundry's are heat sinks especially during winter and unless you have a heated floor or heating in there, I would not sleep a Stafford in a laundry.

Crate training is a good idea. Most Staffords take to their crates very well and love them. Put something over half of the crate to make it more den like. Be prepared that you will still need to get up during the night to take the pup to the toilet and you will probably still be getting up at 5.30am as well.

I'd set the crate up in a living area and leave it there, rather than create a rountine and then undo it by shoving the pup back into the laundry.
