JeremyH
Hi I have a georgeous 9 month old Welshie who is in need of a 'show cut' - at the moment I have been doing the basics with him, but don't feel that confident to do more. Any recommendations for a groomer who has experience of Welshies with in the Illawarra, or even Southern Sydney (Southerland and south) Of course I could just Gel the top of his head to give him a mohawk
t-time
Is it for show or is it that you just want a groomer who will make him "look" like his breed?
JeremyH
Is it for show or is it that you just want a groomer who will make him "look" like his breed? A mix of both to be honest Firstly - I would like to find somebody who knows the breed and can cut appropriately Secondly - Work commitments have been hectic so far this year, but from the end of March my weekends are free again, and I would like to take him to the show ring to see how he goes. poochmad
Have you been in contact with his breeder? They should be able to advise you of how to groom him for the show (and in general) as well as have a look to see whether he's good enough to be in the ring. poochmad
Oh and come and have a chat in the Springer thread, where Field Spaniels, Welsh and English Springers and a couple of Springmations hang out...Springer Thread Edited March 5, 2010 by poochmad
JeremyH
Oh and come and have a chat in the Springer thread, where Field Spaniels, Welsh and English Springers and a couple of Springmations hang out...Springer Thread Thanks fo the reply. Of course the breeder supplied amongst other information details on what grooming is generally done. Whislt not a guarentee of his show ability, he is from multiple show winners and 2 litter mates are winning puppy classes. As the subject of this post implies - I am not comfortable doing the grooming myself - I do not for example have another pair of hands to keep my dog still ... So any suggestions of a groomer?
