Macrolone

but can't reply to it because it's too old!

Strange question, but I'm a bit worried, so here's a bit of history first...

My dog was prescribed a course of Macrolone (8 tablets in total) for itchy feet, and a bit of hairloss around her eyes, however due to the fact that both my dogs have recently had two bouts of upset stomachs, she was also on a course of Metrogyl too.

Though I wasn't overly keen on giving her the cortisone tabs, I did give her 5 days worth just to see if the itching stopped.

To be honest, I'm not convinced they did, as I'd also banished both dogs from the grassed area of the backyard too (primarily to see if stopped the diarrhoea) and think that may have helped.

Anyway, rambling, but my question is, could the Macrolone cause the skin to thin? Have read it can cause hairloss, but thin skin too?

Reason why, Tess now seems to have one or two slightly raised veins on her belly, two BIG veins I can see very clearly down near the outer edge of her vulva, and around the edge of her vulva seems very blue/purple?

As I said, bit worrying, and I'm sure not right, wasn't like that before.........

Could it be the tablets?

Also like to add, that I was NOT told to gradually reduce the dose in any way shape or form. Would that matter so much after only having the tabs for 5 days?

The more I read on here about prednisol (sp) the more I'm worrying!!!!
