HI team,

So I went and got a whole heap of meat/bones for charlie. He is a 9 month old desexed beagle. I got beef tail, lamb hearts, chicken wings, chicken necks and mince.

I was going to feed something along the lines of: 3 chicken necks for breakfast, lamb heart for dinner. or 1 chicken wing for breakfast, and mince with vege mix for dinner. A tin for sardines for breakfast one morning a week, with necks or wings or tail or heart for dinner.......

Im not putting in things like honey or oats, though sometimes i mix some oats through his mince. Sometimes he has some natural yogurt, or a throw a raw egg on but nothing religous, just kinda think about whats hes had that week and throw it in.

Should I be more structured? When he has mince we mix some omega 3/flaxseed mix through it as well for his joints. also, the portions of tail are small, only about 100 grm - is this enough for a meal?

Charlie is just over 10 kgs.

Ive read all the info, I guess I want to thow this out there - I am terrified of having him miss out on something important.:(

Thanks,

Jacqui

Thanks SecretKei.

My OH is also worried that one chicken wing is not enough for him for *breakfast* or *dinner* - anyone have any thoughts on that? I would have thought that being 10 kgs, 200 - 250gm of wing/neck/offal per day (split into 2 meals) would be ok.............

And thank you SecretKei, I will add some liver and kidney to the rotation.

thanks

Jacqui

My dog is close to 40kg's and he gets around 1kg of food per day split into 2 meals

If your dog is not looking too skinny then I'm sure he's fine. And if he starts looking a bit thin, well then just throw him an extra wing in the mornings :curtsey:
