littlehoot
I was reading up on heartworm/wormers and came across this http://www.petdirect.com.au/international/...294b1c9363f89e5 Its says that dogs cant eat offal. I am wondering if anyone know why this is? I have made a call to Virbac but am waiting on a call back Other sits say its cover hydadit worms so I am a little confused. Tassie
Don't know about any connection with Canimax - but in Tasmania, for instance, it is technically against the law to feed offal to your dogs - even human grade. This is because Tasmania used to have some terrible cases of hydatid cysts - for which the dog is an intermediate host. Animal health authorities in Tasmania are still very wary of recurrence of hydatid disease and have border control policies in place to try to prevent infected dogs getting in. Details are on this linky
Nekhbet
I dont see why dogs shouldnt eat offal from a human butcher. It's made for people to eat as well! Just dont go purchasing offal from random dodgy knackeries. Edited February 26, 2010 by Nekhbet
