W Sibs
Don't the dogs do every trip with you? LOL They're great at supervising the unpacking and checking out whose getting which room etc...... well thats the way we've always done it Good luck with it all, I hate moving and I've moved more times than I care to remember and I'm sure I will again. LOL Yes, I do take Charlie everywhere with me! that's my problem!! I don't know if i should leave him behind or take him with me.. but, he is little and he is curious about everything. we don't want to drop anything on him or trip over him. we don't want him to trip over anything or jump on anything... ;) yes, i worry a lot!! mutt lover
I've moved several times with my old dog Lady and I feel she knows what's going on when she sees me packing as she gets more clingy than usual, I Wouldn't have it any other way than to have her with me as she's part of my family so wouldn't leave her and bring her later. I even arranged for my horse to come up on same day that I moved as she doesn't like to be away from me either always likes to be in paddock near house so she can see me through the window but it didn't quite happen like that this time as transport broke down so she had to spend 2 nights at transport company's farm but was well looked after but was very stressed when she came being a new strange place and having been away from me for couple of days which has never happened in her 12 years since I bred her. So I'd have to say move with your dog as they can sense whats going on feel they need to be around you to settle in to your new home with you not AFTER. poochmad
I love taking the dogs with us wherever we go and I love watching them explore the new place. As long as the new environment is ready for him (i.e. closed fences etc), then I'd just take him with you and let him explore the new surroundings while you unpack. Bilbo Baggins
I would take Charlie with the first load. As he is crate trained, leave in in the crate when you go for the second load. Make sure he remains in crate while you unload because with lots of people doors can be left open.
