Monah
I received this email this morning from a relative in Cairns. This girl is very lovely and needs a loving home. I loathe the way society separates people and their pets at these times. It will come to us all eventually... I forgot!! She is a GERMAN SHEPHERD!!! From: Sent: Thursday, 18 February 2010 7:52 PM Subject: 9 Year Old Long Coat Bitch Hi Was hoping someone could help me with re homing this bitch please. Kimmie is a 9 year old desexed girl who I groom every fortnight. Her owner is quite elderly and is basically incapacitated and as a result Jackie’s family are moving her into a nursing home in Sydney. Jackie’s family are unable to have Kimmie as they live in a town house and she is not able to have her in the nursing home. She has very reluctantly agreed to re home Kimmie. So this is where I need your help, if you know of anyone who would like a well mannered, obedient, gets on with people and I am told dogs. She is a very healthy girl from what I can see, she is used to being an indoor dog and is very well mannered inside. If you can help or know of anyone who might could you please forward this email onto them, please. This needs to be done soon as they are moving Jackie in the next couple of weeks and told me tonight they will just leave Kimmie at the house by her self until a home is found. I get the impression that the ‘family’ are not dog people and don’t seem to understand what effect this would have on Kimmie. If you can help please contact me 0417073019 or via email and I will pass on details to the family. They are happy for her to go to Sydney etc also if anyone has a home down there… Thanks Jacqui
all that glitters
Ohh I do hope she finds a lovey home ASAP. That poor old lady, the thought of being separated from your beloved dog, especially at that age and in that fragile state.. it's so sad

Monah
Thanks, I'll do that. I have posted in rescue and GSD breed pages, just in case. She sounds lovely. Poor woman, poor dog.
Amika
It's too bad she's in Cairns, my OH would have happily taken her on, but would be better if she can be kept by someone near her owner who would be willing to take her in for visits.
