Ptolomy / amypie - did you guys get your cool coats yet that you ordered? The cheaper ones that were posted somewhere here a while ago. How good/bad are they?

Yes they have arrived. I will bring mine on the weekend for you to have a look at and you can make your own decision. Its been too cold to try them out and because I haven't wet it yet - they say be careful - you know usual shammy warnings.

:laugh::o :D

Thanks, I'll take a look on the weekend then and might order the girls one. Sheesh, never mind that I have a wishlist of things I want to buy myself - my dogs get everything instead!!

I think its suppose to be wet before unfolding it or it may crack - something like that.

I ordered a small and it cost me $35. Deb ordered a medium and the coat she got was linned and hers was $50 so much cheaper than the Cool Champion ones - but as I said - they are untested at this stage.

So instead of singing onward Christian Soldiers I am now singing I do not need anything from Clean Run or hi ho hi ho its off to Clean Run I go.......

Yes I got mine and used it at the nationals although I did make some modifications (took off the buckles and put Velcro on instead because even at the tightest buckle setting it was too loose at the front, narrow dog problem).

I was really glad I got it because it was pretty warm on one of the days, it did make a big difference for him, he didn't pant, usually he gets hot quickly in the sun because of his black patches. It had a shammy side that was against his fur but it didn't make him wet, I had it on my arm after one of his runs and it was so nice and cool I wished I had a full body one :o When it was wet it was nice and soft. So not bad.

Although someone did point and laugh at it because it was so little :D :D I saw a Pom with one on and that was heaps littler than mine!

Mental note: point and laugh at amy's little dog coats next time you see them :)

I may have to order two now :) Poor Millie feels it worse than Ruby of course, but Ruby hates the heat too. We can have them on the dogs during group stays, right? That is when Ruby really needs it. Edit: though they might help with the heat, they won't help with the boredom Ruby suffers in group stays! She gets fidgety :mad

My Ruby is too cute :) I had some floor tiles delivered yesterday ready to get my laundry/sleepout tiled, and last night I laid one on the floor to see what it looked like in the room. I stood back to have a look and Ruby goes up to it and places her front 2 paws on it. Yup, she thought we were doing some perch work :) I get her off it to look at it, she hops back on, looking at me expectantly :mad I had to pick it up in the end, cos she kept going back to it :)

Just to steer us clear of temptation ...........

ETA - Ooops - I see it was too late for JulesP :mad

If money wasn't an issue - which state would you like to trial in and why, or if you don't want to trial anywhere else - why not.

For me its NSW as the sudden death rule got me last time :)

Sudden death is only Sydney Metro local rule I think Ptolomy - although that does extend as far south as Wollongong. Outside of the metro area, they use normal rules. Country NSW is fine. (I'm actually an 'overseas' member of Southern Highlands Kennel and Obedience Dog Club, at Berrima (near Bowral - lovely area.)

I've trialled obedience in Vic and Tas, and agility in NSW, Vic, SA, Tas - of course - and now WA :) .

(And I got 3 lovely furry tug leads from Jacqui in WA - as well as my i-squeaks - Rory was squeaking his again last night. - Thanks you Ptolomy.

You guys all clearly need to do some distraction training! Repeat after me: "resist temptation to buy more stuff!" LOL

My dog must be sooo deprived compared to all of your dogs! :( She has one collar and lead for walking/obedience/general use, a chain and lead for showing and that's pretty much it. I have about 5 different tugs here cos I was trying to find a good one and that's about all, a handful of toys mostly from previous dogs and one bed.

That is bad luck about Cindy. Hope she recovers ok from being bitten.

Any Australian tug lead makers???

Thanks Jules. she is a bit better tonight but still a bit withdrawn and not interested in much. At least she wants cuddles now though so I am forgiven at long last.

Like you can talk Seita - I think I have just been talked into a few more shopping purchases in the way of tug toys :( .

LOL... just cos I don't buy stuff doesn't mean I can't help others spend money!! :)

Speaking of trialling in other states, Seita/Huski - or can anybody else tell me when your trialling season finishes in Queensland please :D

Does this happen to coincide with another QLD trip?? :birthday:

Trials up until the end of November
