huski
What does everyone use for training bags?? I have a terrible green bag I use, Daisy knows it's the training bag and that it often has food in it. I had her off leash at training one night - I had just finished working her and was putting her away. She spotted a green coles bag across the field that belonged to someone else and shot off to raid it! And it had HEAPS of food in it that belonged to someone else I was mortified! Ptolomy
Huski - do you mean training bag as in one that you wear around your waist? If so - then I don't. Thats what pockets are for IF you mean what do I put my treats in to bring to training - that would most probably be a reused Coles type plastic bag which usually sits on the front seat of my car. pie
I have a clean run tote bag that is full of dog stuff - toys, clickers, treats, backup dried treats, tissues, water bottle and other surprises It's like a Mary Poppins bag
RallyValley
Had an awesome session tonight. Zora was pretty good offering focus and playing tug with other dogs nearby. Toby did some nice heel work and good focus with dogs playing agility nearby, getting back on track after missing lots of weeks. Huski in WA most of us keep out gear in the car ;)
RubyStar
I bought a big beach type bag while I was on holiday in Brissy a couple of years ago and it turned into my training bag. It stays in the car, though. It contains basically everything - toys, empty jackpot containers, bait plate, clicker, poo bags, etc. My treats get thrown into a plastic ziplock bag or a container and sit on my front seat or on the bonnet. I've seen people leave little cooler type bags outside rings before (in training and trialling) and couldn't ever do that. My dogs would likely run out of the ring expecting to jackpot themselves! They get treats out of my pocket or we run to the car for some (or if I was prepared, we run to a jackpot container I hid before getting them out, but I mainly only do this at the park as there are trees, park benches and other hidey holes I can hide them in!) wuffles
Mine love green bags because they know groceries (and therefore food) appear in them every so often We did a quick Open run through last night and while some of her work was pretty average, when I got the dumbbell out she perked right up and did the most beautiful, happy retrieves! I never thought I would get there but now I finally believe you TSD that you can make retrieving fun for a dog that initially hates it

Tassie
at the green Coles bag. One club we were trialling agility actually used green supermarket bags (with a plastic bag full of sand inside) for their tunnel bags. Kirra being the gannet that she is, I fully expected her to stop at the mouth of the tunnel to rat through the bag - she didn't though, good girlie. :D

Rams knows the good stuff is kept in there but never runs off to raid it. Treats I keep in my pocket. Always have a yummy smelling pocket in my training pants lol. Keeps him interested. The Spotted Devil
I use as many different things as possible so the dogs don't get wise Little soft esky with an ice brick for a hot day, tug toy stuffed with treats, training bag around my waist, pockets, game bag (for retrieving), back pack with all the other gear, plastic containers etc etc.
kathq
I use a wahl grooming bag, lots of pockets and places to store stuff. Divide the largest part with two soft 6pack eskies. One for UD gear one for toys/rewards. Probably carry too much stuff but I like to feel like I have spares and choices.
ness
kathq - thats like me who has a selection of tugs yet pretty much without fail seems to resort to using one or two and yet I still insist on taking them all with me.
RubyStar
My training bag is a huge disorganised mess. Quite often the contents are just tipped out onto the footwell of the passenger front seat as I desperately try to find something that is of course at the bottom of the bag
pie
Yep mine is chaos, and I recently found a forgotten small bag of tuna fudge treats in there that had gone so mouldy it had solidified into one lump It didn't smell or anything, luckily it was sealed
