Tassie
Ptolomy - thought it might be too late. He's such a clever boy! So what's your strategy for working him on duration heeling - inquiring minds over her want to know :D .

wuffles
Ava got another Novice pass this morning with 186 and 2nd place. I have plenty of excuses for the points we lost so am relatively happy with the score Want to aim for 190+ for our next one though, which isn't until late August. wuffles
Well done Wuffles - so did you lose the points or did Ava? Isn't it always the handler? Lost 10 points in heelwork - it was super windy so I think we were both having a bit of trouble focusing. Wasn't paying attention so when I gave her the stand command she stood for a second then looked at me and sat (twice!)... never done that before I also lost her out in front in fast pace (lesson: need to proof fast pace while running towards friends outside of the ring) so had to call her back into position. Positives were that the Figure of 8 was perfect, concentration in slow pace was nice and turns were tighter than last time! 3 points gone in recall for running into me then sitting crooked. That one's definitely my fault as it was a longer recall than we have ever practised, although she did a perfect finish so all forgiven. I think the other point was in the SFE but I have no idea why as she didn't move a muscle. Was no doubt something I did Full marks for COP where I got lots of compliments on her fold back down... unfortunately I can't take credit for that as she does it naturally. She was at the vet last night because she managed to get something in her eye so she was a little sore still this morning - winked at me during the stays but didn't seem too bothered! I am learning sooooooooo much each and every trial. She is an awesome first trialling dog
wuffles
Well done wuffles! You're flying through, great job! Open soon!! :D Do you have video of your trial or the last one? I really wanted a video of this trial but forgot my camera  Not ready for OOS stays yet and probably not quite for retrieves either so thankfully a while until our next trial... wuffles
The last pass is hard, I do agree on that. For our CCD, we qualified in our first two trials, then failed two, then got our last pass at the fifth. Novice we have passed our first two so we'll see what happens for the third :p I think the first pass is the most stressful because you don't really know what's going to happen. You can breathe a bit easier once you know you have achieved something at least once in the trial setting.

You can breathe a bit easier once you know you have achieved something at least once in the trial setting. Again, I'm the opposite. I go into a first trial going whatever happens, happens, as I really don't know what to expect. But when I go in knowing I just need 1 more pass, I get stressed and then things go to pooh Ruby got 2 novice obedience passes in one day, then it took us months and months to get the final one! Both girls got 2 novice agility passes each in one weekend, back in April, and we've been trialling every weekend for about 5-6 weeks now with mostly double trials and can I get that last pass with either of them, NO! They also both need only 1 CDX pass each for their title and I can tell that one is going to take an age, as it's the one I want the most But with hardly any trials til the end of the year, I'm pretty set in knowing that title won't be happening any time soon!!
