Was hoping to have a last trial on saturday as hitout for the following weekend but everyone else in the house will be out and I will have to take the screaming loon as well as she cant be left alone.. Not a good situation to have her screaming herself sick whether she is left in a crate or in the back of the truck so ....

Not sure one more outing would improve things anyway..

Here is a pic of Orlando & his 2 side kicks Sarge & Dodger, these are the 2 that have helped Orlando finaly pull off his sit stays

Sarge is the one I will have with us at the trials, he the button I push to get Orlando to lift his game & work

alright gurus! We've had a dreadful weekend of trialling, the little bitch has gone back to running around not really scenting for her article in the seekback so both last night and this morning we withdrew after the seekback and put her away. I did one with her today a couple of hours after the trial with somone calling it for me and she did it perfectly, I rewarded and put her away. She did everything else nicely in training during the week but now I'm not sure what I should do this week in the lead up to the states/nationals. Do I continue training her and drilling her on the trouble spots or do I spell her completely and do nothing at all with her? I've asked several people and most think I should do nothing with her as she knows the work but I'm not sure I can do that! LOL So what would everyone else do??? The wine is looking like a great option right now!

Take her dinner down to the oval and ask for a seekback or scent work for her dinner  I bet she will get it right

We had a trial today which was sponsored by Nutro - so they give bags of food away for the pacegetters 15kg for first 3 x 3kg for second and 3kg for 3rd.

I failed UDX, UD and finished 2nd in open and came away with $200+ of dog food 27kg. So thank you to the club for arranging the sponsorship and awarding even the non qualifiers.

My dogs are very happy

Take your own advice - down the park in the dark or half dark  . Worked for Coco's SB slowed her down and made her use her nose. Only took a couple of short sessions for us so probably only one for you and Ella.

But she has been getting it right in training. She did a perfect one at the same grounds 2 hours after the trial yesterday! I'm hoping that by pulling her out after the seekback and not letting her to the other fun exercises she'll get the point that she needs to do it right! Fingers crossed for this weekend! LOL

I figure if I spell I either can't break anything or more importantly I don't know if anything is broken

Can you try training the seek back in a well walked over area? That is the only difference I can think of between training and trialling. Maybe not so many new fresh scents in training?
