You can see a bit of prancy heelwork that Richard Curtis does with his dog Whizzy towards the end of this vid;

Kamal will be back in Australia this year, for anyone who is interested he will be doing workshops/seminars at Camp Tailwaggers this year :(

I must admit I have been lazy with Daisy's heel position. It is improving, but because focus was something we struggled to get for so long that is my number one priority - I am happy just to have her be excited and working happily in training/ the ring. I am sure I will be more precise with training heel position for my next dog, but it's not been my main focus when training Daisy so it is definitely the area we probably need the most work on.

Here's our latest vid - excuse the vocal beagle :)

Huski - I fly to Brisbane tomorrow so if you have nothing to do one day - let me know :)

When are you trialling next

Not sure yet when I'll be trialling next - will you be entered at the Pine Rivers trial?

Will PM you about catching up

Everything with Cindy is broken!

No auto sits at heel, no sit at end of recall, no drops, no SFE if we are on grass. Perfect sit/drop/standstays on grass though. If I train on concrete all is well.

No sign of rashes or soreness or general ill health.

Happy to play and rough 'n tumble etc.

Any clues?

I think it's next year Huski, when he is back in Australia and going to WA also.

Sorry, no clue :) I'd like to say she's just being a b!tch, but that's more the excuse I make for Ruby :bolt:

Maybe she is just a bit sore? Was the grass wet? Will she do these things on grass if you provide lots of rewards for doing so? If she still won't with rewards on offer, I'd say she's a bit sore

Thanks for the reply-her baviour sure frustrated me!

It seems it is only a problem in our backyard-she is scared so something must have happened. She won't go there alone. It is a secure locked yard, no neighbours with kids or anything so something must have happened.

The good news is that she is not broken (apart from her drops which have ALWAYS been broken) which is a relief becasue we are trialling tomorrow.

Well I decided to start training Daisy seekback, she is really enjoying it so far!

I started by getting her to find it in the house, which she was really good at.

Last night I took her out to the local park and did some heel work. I'd drop the SB at the 'start peg', walked a few steps turned around and asked her to find. She LOVES this new game - she is really enjoying it and gets so excited when she finds it and races it back to me.

Can't wait to see how she goes with it. I like playing scent games with her as she obviously really enjoys being able to use her nose.
