Tiggy I was naughty and impatient and lured it a few times first and Ptolomy told me off because I didn't let the dog think for itself. I was to quick to jump in and lure the dog rather than wait after having lured it a few times.

ETA. The final product :cheer:http://www.youtube.com/user/ness#p/u/76/Wrck3j4zc28

Not the best example but she was cute anyway  .

I was wondering do most of you try to come to a stop on your left leg for a halt/drop/stand. I always do for the halt(sit) but sometimes I muck it up for the others but it doesn't seem to bother the dogs.

It doesn't matter what you do but consistancy does matter especially as you go up through the classes. I always stop on my right foot and close with my left for the automatic sit. For the drop I give my hand signal with my right hand simultaneously with my right foot forward and my left leg comes up to meet it.

That's what I do to bedazzled :D but you said it better than me :D , when I said I stop on my left foot I meant close with my left leg like you said.

Thanks Huski!!!

I have high hopes for her, so we'll see how we go - you should've seen us at sandgate today - she was AMAZING!!!! Her heeling is coming along so nicely... she's improving in leaps and bounds!!! I love my smart little girl!!!!!!

I think you should definitely start videoing and uploading to youtube :cheer::laugh:

You can tell Lottie naturally just loves to work, and spend time with you :cheer: We should meet up for a training session once your exams are over!

I second this, reaaaaaaally wanna see vids of you guys working!

Ok, I took a video of me training this arv - if I manage to get it on here i'll let you know

If I do, i'd love comments/tips/help - but be nice, hehe - i'm so new to all of this and we have a LONG way to go, and Lottie is still quite youn (9 months), but I love getting help and lessons that can improve out training!!!!!!! Lottie worked well this arv!!!

She's a naughty thing Flick... she wasn't supposed to go to training on Monday night either but she did anyway :thanks:

And it was soooo worth watching the game tonight - those boys were on FIRE!!! hahaha

Anyway, back to the topic - i'm going to have to wait till I get back to Gatton before I upload it (the internet I have here is slow and crap, so I'm not even going to bother trying!!!) - so will have to wait till at least Sat now, hahaha... I might film another round before then and put my best one up I think!!!!

Well I'm feeling a lot more confident about Ella's UD debut this weekend, she's been doing really well with her seekbacks for the last few weeks and her gloves are pretty reliable now too (unless I give her a bad signal which I have been known to do). I dare say that short of her doing something silly due to her lack of experience she'll do really well and we'll probably only get zeros cos of something stupid that I've done! :thanks:

On other news.... this little guy here looks set to become my next show and competition dog. All going to plan I'll be picking him up this weekend or next! Please meet Mack:

Huski - we're a bad influence on each other not studying.... but it probably helps that I'm out in Laidley and she's in Brissie.... less opportunity to go to the lake etc!

Mack is gorgeous! Good luck with Ella's UD!

I love training Erik because he's so easy and you only have to look at him to get him fired up and excited. But Kivi Tarro is very mellow and laid back and he just doesn't get very aroused. He's got his head in the clouds most of the time and has a very low frustration threshold. Erik can do heaps of things I could be proud of, but I think I'm more proud of Kivi because we're in a good place with training where he is happy and more enthusiastic than I ever thought I could get him. It's taken a long time to get him there. Here's a few snippets of a training session earlier in the week.

He's not a performance dog, and what he does doesn't look wildly clever or difficult, but just wanted to share 'cause I'm proud as punch of him anyway.
