pie
thanks for the advice everyone .Bedazzled i am so glad i don't have to worry about my hand position thing then . Maybe i will have a look at Bunbury club and see if it's what I'm looking for . Your right Ruby star i am dedicated that's why i want to make sure im joining a good club . I have come from a very small club where they are no longer affiliated because they are soo small and the only trialling experience we have is 1 very outdated harsh trainer and myself and my friend who's the other instructor (she used to be an instructor at Southern districts which is a huge club in Adelaide ) . I am pretty sure the Bunbury club is affiliated. They must be because they hold ANKC trials. Is that how it works?

ness
I already told Steve it was just plain evil that they came in the full range of BC colour accessories but since it was for Kenz and she is my purple girl I got a purple one . I have to say I am also very impressed with the leather tugs. Nice and soft on the teeth yet very durable. Edited June 1, 2010 by ness
RubyStar
Hey bedazzled/Ptolomy are you going to the rally seminar I did originally say yes - but have not filled in any forms or paid any money and have in fact forgotten when it is. Life is a little hectic at the moment It's July 3 & 4. The registrations close June 18th. I'm yet to send my form off to . It's $80 which is a bit especially when ness is tempting me with new leads . $50 for us SRAODC members

huski
Go on Tiggy, the leashes are brilliant! I got mine yesterday and used it at training, it's a great trial leash as it's so light weight but has that grippy strip on it so it's easy to handle. And the purple is very flashy Sent entries off for our first three obedience trials today  Hopefully they are the only ones we will need to send off for CCD Edited June 1, 2010 by huski

RubyStar
Woohoo huski! Kick some butt like we know you will!! How exciting, your first trials! Oh, and scary! I know that feeling I just have to keep telling myself that being nervous doesn't help matters, it can only make them worse actually and if she messes up she's going to anyway regardless of being nervous or not! But somehow, I can't convince myself of that Have fun You'll be hooked in no time  Edit: the dog is probably nervous for us screwing up, as us handlers can have dummy moments too Edited June 1, 2010 by RubyStar

I am 98797897987979798789638783264723 times less nervous than I was before Sunday - I'm so glad we did that mock trial as we did it under exact trial conditions and I feel way more confident now knowing we can definitely do it! ETA: LOL yes poor Daisy, she really is a star putting up with my nerves and handling I don't know how she does it!! RubyStar
Ruby so isn't ready for Open. If there's a darker patch of grass between the solid jump and me, she jumps over the jump with dumbell in mouth and runs around the patch of grass and presents almost at heel I swear that dog has some weird, weird phobias! She always likes to run around dark/strange patches in the grass like it's going to jump out and eat her Did a 3 minute out of sight sit stay last night (coming back a few times to treat) and BOTH girls did it beautifully! Yep - CCD is all on lead apart from the recall and stays. Novice (CD) is the next class up which is what we did in the mock trial video I posted on Sunday night, it's all off leash and has one extra exercise. I did a Show'n'go before my first agility trial and it really made the world of difference! I have never felt anywhere near as nervous as I felt at that show'n'go, I thought I was going to faint and vomit at the same time I was so glad I did it, my confidence has improved with every trial (so has Kyzer's) Onwards and upwards form here Huski

Yes, CCD is the first one and it's on lead. CCD is optional, though, you can go straight into Novice (CD) if you wish, and that is offlead.
