What I really want though is a flat collar and lead set from Walkewoo. The signature dots range  But that would cost me over $100 for a collar and lead set including postage for the 2 dogs

I bought some ribbon to make my own collar but can't find webbing anywhere!

Oi you lot! This is supposed to be a training thread, not another thread to feed my dog collar and lead addiction!! :D  eta. sounds a bit kinky, my interest is only for the dogs to wear them!

Polo does need his own personalised slip lead though... and he does actually tug

I had my pretty ones arrive from overseas too this morning - nice and sparkly . I didn't think you were allowed a name on a lead for trialling  .

Pictures please!

Here's one of a few I have from Kathryn'sKollars

My slip leads came from Clean Run to but I can't figure out how to put them together so that the leather stopper is behind the ring :D .

Tiggy you have to squish the lead below the stopper through the little ring. Rather than putting the handle bit through the ring. Does that make any sense?? It had me a bit confused too.

Thanks that helped me figure it out  . I bet everyone gets confused  .

If you still want the webbing try a camping store, army disposal shop or horse supplier as thery use the webbing on horse rugs.

I must admit I'm not a real leash or collar collector!

I have used the same quality leather leashes for years now LOL. I like to buy one quality item and use it forever, there's nothing I like better than a good leather leash  I am happy to splurge on something I will have for a long time.

The dogs have a training collar each (a martingale) and a leather collar each too. I have two premium leather leashes both 4ft long (one was given to me), one 6ft long leather leash, a 4ft braided leash for trialling and I have a premium cotton trial leash that should arrive shortly but that was given to me as a prize for being a know it all

See I'm a handbag hoarder, I buy one and then a month or two later I'm sick of it and want a new one. So it only makes sense that I get sick of my collars and leads!

Saying that though, I've been very good lately! I've had the same handbag and matching purse coming up to a year now (good old Jag :D) and the girls haven't had a new collar and lead in 18 months  I think that is bordering on abuse if you ask me! :D

Lol  I am a collar collector Mason has 3 collars that have nothing wrong with them and I have seen a lovely soft leather collar with bling on that I want too, with a matching lead of course ( knowing my luck he will be allergic to the leather or something :D )

Oh no handbags for me are another story, biggest splurge so far being $800. But I use it all the time so it's ok

ETA: I got Daisy a beautiful collar from Ruthless Leather, it's the best ever

Hey Tiggy, how long is the actual lead on that combo if you don't mind me asking?

I've taken to making my own tug leads because none of the tug leads I've found are very long. That one looks nice and long :D I'd love one for "good" :cheer:

Quick question - for those of you who "set-up" something while training, how do you go with other people expecting to use the area with dogs who aren't under any form of control? This is in an unofficial off-lead area.

I have no issue with moving if I'm training without gear, and I normally do to avoid the risk to my dogs. :( If I've spent 15 mins setting up agility gear then I'm reluctant to move but there seems to be an expectation that I'll either move or put up with people's out of control dogs. :) It's only something I do about every 10 days or so, so I'm not hogging the area every night for an hour. :p

I know what the rules are i.e dogs not under effective control, but I'm interested to know how people deal with it in a practical sense? Without coming across as the crazy dog person from hell if I can possibly avoid it?

Had a look at the Kollars by Kathryn one, but I think I prefer the ones at Rush to Tug :D

Agreed, it was a toss up for a while though. Just got some beautiful leads and toys from Rush to Tug last week and was very happy with the quality of her work. Her braiding is the absolute tightest I have ever seen and puts mine to shame (off to practice some more)

I'm fussy as I make my own too but wanted to have a look at some other designs to get some more 'inspiration' and these certainly hit the spot. Plus I'm weird in that I make dog toys, collars and leads but like to have something made by others for my own dogs. Probably because I'm a shop a holic and making my own doesn't scratch that itch. So I would definitely recommend Rush to Tug for an OS splurge.

Jess - my 'new collection' is coming soon LOL -and will be experimenting with making much longer leads too - as soon as I finish reports.

(The martingales from Rush to Tug were about 1.5 metres as an estimation as I'm too lazy to find a tape measure - I had them with me at Knox as a couple of people asked for a look, but you couldn't have been there at the time - will bring them along next time we catch up)

My mum fed all the carrots to the sheep so now I have to train Lincoln with apple! :D Not happy. I have to say Lincolns training is going on schedule (we are working on fast square sits and makibd obidience sit positions very high value) but I am feeling very unmotivated with Toby and agility right now.
