Guest Tess32
I moved into new place yesterday and so was deciding where to keep Noah. I was GOING to keep him outside, with the garage door open so he could have shade. But eventually everyone talked me into keeping him inside, so I did today - his first morning. But as I left the house, I noticed the garage door was open! I KNOW it was shut last night, it must be one of those that roll up sometimes when the neighbour opens theirs! I'm so lucky I found that out, otherwise he would have been out the door and onto the road and I would never have known.

Kelly_Louise
VERY lucky It's my worst nightmare... Is it possible to have the door fixed so that it can not be opened by anyone else? I'm so glad that you made the choice that kept your fur baby safe.
Monah
Awful! Yes, you can easliy change the 'code' on the opener or get a garage door person to change it. Meanwhile, I'd unplug the door completely. Far too dangerous re dogs, theft and anyone could enter the place at night when you are there too. I'm so glad that you made the choice that kept your fur baby safe. Probably but even if it got 'fixed' I'd be paranoid now! For all I know maybe I did accidently press it when I went in for the night, but now that I know it's a risk...it's a risk.

I'm not sure how they work.....my colleague just said that sometimes in those kinda places where units are close together it can happen? I guess I can't really be sure until it happens again....maybe I opened it when I was inside?? All I know is that it was CLOSED when I went indoors for the night. ~Anne~
Electrical storms can make them open too. You can switch off the auto opener Tess and use the door manually if you prefer. Edited February 4, 2010 by ~Anne~
Guest Tess32
Ok I'll do that, but he's still staying inside, hehe.
Kelly_Louise
Yep definitely unplug it then... But I think it's a mighty fine excuse for him to be inside

7464
Wow, I'm glad Noah was inside! I was looking after my brother's house just after he moved in a couple of years ago. In the hallway I found what appeared to be a doorbell. Of course I pressed it, nothing appeared to happen. Next morning I went outside and saw the garage door open. Funny place to put a switch for the garage door, I reckon.
pie
If you contact the manufacturer they should have instructions on how to reset it and recode your door and all the remotes. Sometimes the instructions come up on Google too. Still a worry though! Lucky you found out!
KismetKat
OMG Tess Thank goodness you'd kept Noah in. I think yes, inside from now on (and I'm sure Noah won't mind )
