Dame Aussie Posted February 4, 2010 Share Posted February 4, 2010 I got an Elmo doll for christmas and as soon as I unwrapped it Lili was OBSESSED. Now, she has a tendency to suck on cushions/toys etc but her relationship with Elmo is something else. I keep him in the wardrobe and she knows if I say Elmo that she gets to play with him. I will get some video footage if I can but I just wanted to see if anyone has had their dog behave this way! Basically, she treats Elmo like he is a puppy, carries him around the house, sits and suckles on him on the couch, cleans him , if my other dog goes near her when she's having "Elmo Time" it's on for young and old. If you press his tummy he speaks and SHE GOES CRAZY! She goes into "wigglebum mode" and she starts licking him like a mad thing.... I can only let her have him every now and then to avoid fights between her and Mosley! Does anyone elses dog have a favourite toy....to this extent...... I bought Darcy a reindeer dangly toy for Christmas and he searches it out and carries it around in is mouth and licks its head. He did start chewing the ears until I told him he had to be gentle with it, and since then he has been! The head of the reindeer has started to come off from all the licking. Ava loves her tyre toys. she doesnt destroy them, just carries them around and there is always one near her, sort of a security blanket. She is rescue and was not socialised in any way, so when people came, she would hand them one of her tyre toys and get them to toss it to her - her way, I think, of controlling the uncomfortable (for her) situation. she has been given many toys, but her Large Pink TT is the fav.... Seriously, if you wanted her to come, you just had to squeeze him. She would spend copious amounts of time grooming him and protecting him from the other dogs. You wouldn't dare take it away from her. She loved that bloody thing. She passed 4 years ago but he still lives in the dogs bed, wearing her collar. She carries him around everywhere, she washes him and treats him like he is her pup. She also has a little bandage bear that she carries oh so daintily, she takes him to whatever bed she is sleeping in and sets him in the corner where she can keep an eye on him. She always has them with her and nutures them, moves them about the place.
