ness
Thought I would just post something here - I mentioned to Steve about the lunch/food idea and he is going to forward my email addy to everybody on the mailing list so we can organise something. I am assuming predominately they are DOL members but Steve wasn't sure however if people want to give some thought to food for the day. Whether people prefer to all bring stuff to share or contribute money or a combination of both. I am thinking of trying to organise tea/coffee/cold drinks and possibly something for afternoon and morning tea (nothing fancy though) however I am not really a huge tea/coffee drinker so wouldn't have a clue where to start. Bully has said she has an urn somewhere for hot water. I am happy to start some tentative arrangments but if anybody wants to lend me a hand it would be appreciated. We usually seem to do a pretty good job over catering our DOL social functions and it all comes together in the end so I am hoping this won't be to complicated or difficult. So open to thoughts/ideas/suggestions on how to tackle this. I know its still a month away but time flies and I have a bit on my plate over the coming weeks so want to get onto it early rather than leaving it until the last minute. Red Fox
So open to thoughts/ideas/suggestions on how to tackle this. I know its still a month away but time flies and I have a bit on my plate over the coming weeks so want to get onto it early rather than leaving it until the last minute. I'm in for a shared lunch or happy to contribute some money for one Perhaps the easiest way would be to come up with a list of everything you think we'll need and then allocate something to each person? How do you usually organise it for the DOL meets?
ness
We don't it usually just happens and all works out in the end SecretKei .
MsKatie
I am happy to help organise stuff For our usual meets we generally start a thread for people to add what they are bringing - then update the first post to include all the info - I am happy to do that for the DOL members and maybe if ness can have the non DOL members email her and then post that info? I suppose the first thing we need to do is work out whether we are - bringing something to share? - chipping in for pizza? Would need to check there is a pizza place that is open at lunchtime on a Saturday - if we go with this we can see if they will give us a deal for the ammount we would be buying - chipping in for something else to share? eg. chicken platters? Can you maybe email people about this first ness - and then we can go from there My school has an urn I can borrow for the day - we would need tea bags / coffee / milk / sugar / plastic spoons and disposable cups - maybe also spring water and plastic cups? A small charge for each cup would cover this Another idea is buying cans of soft drink and having them available for people to purchase on the day - I don't know if there is access to a fridge or we could bring eskys? How many people are coming along?
ness
Waiting for Steve to get onto sending out an email (well his office people ). My suspicion would be it would be mostly DOL members attending or at least somebody who knows a DOL member but until we hear from from Steve (via email) I am not sure. I don't know what the numbers are either maybe 20-30. I had heard there were only 1 or 2 spots available.

Bully
Bully has said she has an urn somewhere for hot water. I am happy to start some tentative arrangments but if anybody wants to lend me a hand it would be appreciated. Went down the back shed, dug out the urn and cleaned out the spiders etc. and it works We have an urn It's supposed to hold 36 cups.

MsKatie
Bonus - can we charge extra for the spider flavouring?
ness
Ok hopefully everybody who is coming to the workshop received an email from Alison about possible lunch arrangements. Ideally it would be easier to organise through here so lets keep discussions in this thread. If I pick up any non-DOL members then I'll direct them here.
