First Time Puppy Owner
Benson on the left (so impressed - NOT!) and my eternally happy Lughie! :D This is the face I see almost 100% of the time from my Lu Lu!
claireybell
My Jesie is the same. Happy ALL the time! Her tail never stops wagging and it always looks like she has a smile on her face! I adore that she's such a happy girl. We nick name her Wagga Bum cause when her tail is wagging her bottom wobbles! :D
labsrule
Hi FolksJust have a question as Bitty is my first pup. She is a REALLY happy puppy! OH calls her “Sunshine and Rainbows” because this is how she is. Always happy, always looks like she’s having the time of her life. I’m just wondering if this is a puppy thing (are puppies happier than older dogs?) or is this her personality? I mean my older boy is not a sad dog, but he’s fairly normal/mellow in attitude whereas this little girl is always enjoying life and just so………………..cheerful about everything! We are wondering how long we will be able to enjoy this for! We think its one of her best traits. Anyone have a pup like this who grew up and stayed the same? Yes, my beautiful black lab boy Fitzy who I lost in September at 10 years of age thru cancer He was a special boy from the get go and he turned my life upside down in so many ways :D from the very first day he came into my life as an adorable, but scallywag 16 week old pup :D . His joy for life knew no bounds, he was so happy, so beautifully natured, so socialable and charmed every dog and human he met along the way. Always happy, very outgoing, larger than life, exhuberant boy who lived every day like it was his last throughout his lifetime. His joy for life, his enthusiasm in everything he did was infectious and during his lifetime so many people commented on "what a happy boy he was" when they met him and he was always a favourite in the doggie world of Vet staff, Vets, Vet Specialists, groomer, boarding kennels etc etc because of his happy disposition and love of life ;) He truly was a special boy, a once in a lifetime dog who changed my life forever and I miss him immensely and will for the rest of my life ;) Treasure and enjoy your happy little girl and I wish you many years of happiness with your gorgeous girl like I had with my beautiful boy . Bubitty
Labsrule you’ve just made me cry. I’m so sorry you lost your boy. One of the most endearing things about Bitty is that I don’t think there is much in life that she minds or doesn’t like.

3shepherds
Jack turned 4 in November - he was a happy pup and he's a happy dog. Full of life and always with a smile on his face - a big boofhead I don't think he'll ever change. And you wouldn't want him to. Benson is such a delight with his sunny, happy ways. He hates the dogwash, but he submits to it and grins happily while I lather him up and rinse him off, and gobbles up treats as I give them to him. Miss Dusty, on the other hand, has definite views on that damn wash-monster and she lets us know how she feels in no uncertain terms. She is extremely unhappy about getting into it, and the expressions on her face are anything BUT sunny. As for treats, she just spits them out the side of her mouth. And this is a dog that LOVES treats. The last time we bathed her, my husband was practically on the ground rolling with laughter at the looks she was giving me. She is a sweet girl, but she definitely doesn't share Bensons optimistic view of the world and everything in it. Oh my - Dusty sounds like my Gracie (my avatar). She's a real princess and the OH often says she looks like she spent the night with her face in a grapefruit
Gayle.
Oh my - Dusty sounds like my Gracie (my avatar). Dusty is so funny and so expressive I almost expect her to start talking. Yesterday I had the day off work and was trying to have a sleep in. Benson was outside as he prefers sleeping out there during the summer. Dusty was on my bed as usual. Taking up most of it. She jumped up to go out and off she went out with Benson. Immediately she started barking at the early morning walkers, and I yelled out to my husband to bring her back in. Back she came and I told her to get back into bed. So she hopped on the end of the bed and proceeded to lick her bum. Scratch her side. Chew some non-existent fleas. Lick bum again. Lick me. Eff off Dusty!. Then she jumped over me. And over me again. Then she sat at the door, then came back to me and stared closely at my face. She was willing me to get up and let her back out so she could go and bark with Benson. She does this open and closing thing with her mouth that looks like she's trying to talk. She did that. Got back on the bed, jumped over me, poked me with her nose, licked me again. She was like a goddamn teenager........just present the most annoying behaviour possible and don't stop it until you get your own way!
westiemum
Here's my 'cushion queen' (in the lounge) and 'pillow princess' (in the bedroom). She has the happiest, smiliest face and wags her tail like a windmill till I'm sure its going to drop off - and she's 8 and a 1/2 Bub! And she's always been like this - just loves life - so with any luck your pup will be the same
