Am I Worrying Too Much

Hi all.

This may sound a bit silly.But i want to get back to the gym after work.Poor little Wugs is outside from about 7-4 weekdays,he loves it out there and he has all his toys,kong stuffed with bits and pieces,water and bedding,and even when i get home now,he is very reluctant to come inside after he says hello.When i get home of an arvo he is usually sleeping contently on the soft cool grass.

i am so worried that if i go back to the gym,which will make me home an hour later than usual,he will fret and cry,or,we have not spent enough time with him.Am i just being silly,after all,he is a dog,and he seems to enjoy being outside.

I feel guilty though,i rush home from work to see him everyday,but now i might be an extra hour.

Do i go to the gym,or do i get home to my boy ASAP?

he is a dog- being outside is fine - an extra hour should be no problem once he gets used to it:) I'm sure you spend heaps of 'quality' time with him!

If you are that concerned why not spend 1/2 an hour at the gym then come home and walk him for 1/2 an hour - works for both of you

If he likes being outside then he'll probably think he's really scored the motherload with some extra play-time, hehe.

Good job dogs can't tell time sorry I just had to mention it.

Dogs have no form of time, so they won't know if your an hour later than normal. I think it would be fine to go to the gym. Just be careful he doesn't get bored or he will become destructive. Is there anyone you can have nip in to check on him? Or do you have someone you can ask to have him for the day? Just so his days are broken up so they are not always spent so much on his own.

Haha. Im sure he will be fine.

Having said that, I have a better idea. Purchase a circuit gym and some free weights, then you dont need to go to the gym, and in the long run you save alot of money too

Hmmm, I might have to dispute this. My dogs are like dairy cattle. If I do anything at the same time of day regularly, they notice & tell me when I change plans/timing.

I'm kinda like that... I'm back playing my evening sports now. So, I've either got puppy sitters lined up or I'm taking Charlie with me. Luckily the stadiums I go to, they turn a blind eye when he is around because he is so little (and very cute helps too) and so well behaved!

I think he will be fine... it's summer so the sun it out longer. he will enjoy being outside more

Thanks Guys,the walking is a good idea,1/2 at gym and 1/2 with Wugs.Dont really have anyone who can come over to check on him,but i could drop him off at his nanna's a few times a month,just for something different.

i wish he could not tell the time,come 6pm,he is standing there,stairing at me waiting for din dins,even if we are playing,he will stop dead in his tracks,and stair.But i would be home by then anyway,most likely he would just sleep till i get home.So,i think i will give the gym go,amy for about 30-40 mins,then i will be home to walk him and spend quality time playing and training.

And the little bugger has become facinated with digging now,so i will have to make sure he stops that so he does not destroy the lawn while i am out.

Mine KNOW exactly what time it is. If I come home an hour earlier, they are all snoring, and get BUSTED, if I am on time, they are waiting.

And if he is happy when you are at work, he wont mind if you are late/ Tell him you need to have a life too, and he can nap longer He'll be good with that.

mine know when to sit by the gate and wait, even if i am home late

but if I'm home on the rare occassion early no one is waiting at all

i'd go half gym, half dog walk as well or get a Wii and train at home with pug watching
