becandcharch
I'm sure this has been done before.. I have a photo that I want to get on canvas. It will be quite a big canvas somewhere around 1m x 1m ish. Maybe a bit bigger. Can anyone recommend somewhere of high quality? Thanks

kja
I've had several really big canvas (and tons of small ones) done by Brilliant Prints and they have been superb. I have a 1.5 high one that's been my "tester" and it looks as hot today as it did almost two years ago. Their customer service has been fantastic, they have good prices and their turnaround time is awesome. Also, you don't pay until you receive the goods and if there is even the teensiest thing wrong, they fix it cheerfully. Do a little search here in the forum - Ash has suggested a couple of places, too. I may try one of her suggestions at some stage, but I have been so impressed by my dealings with Brilliant Prints they're who I think of immediately. Avoid Genius Print like the plague. Ashanali
We used Brilliant Prints for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The quality is very good but I'm still not impressed with the customer service. It was a rush job as we needed the canvases urgently for an expo. We called and made sure they could do the order and they told us it wouldn't be a problem. Lucky that my husband called them late on the afternoon that we sent the order because they 'forgot' it was a rush job and simply put it in the queue (even though the email sent with it had "URGENT" marked on it and they were expecting the order to go through.) If we didn't call to confirm it was received we wouldn't have had the prints on time. Anyway, husband paid them over $600 by credit card when he picked up the prints (we are local) and they then sent us emails asking to pay the account. Husband contacted them and said it was paid and person on the phone got a bit huffy but said they would check. A couple of days later we got an email telling us that it was all sorted and it was a myob problem. I went into using them with a bit of fear so the experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. It probably wouldn't have bothered me so much if I hadn't heard the bad stories about their service prior to using them. That being said, we used them because it was a rush job and they were the people who could give us the fastest turn around - and they made the deadline and the product is good quality. If we had more time up our sleeves for the order, we would have gone with our favourites at Ally Harrison. They have changed hands recently but we tried them out again a few weeks ago and the quality and the customer service hasn't skipped a beat. LOVE THEM! kja
Isn't it funny how experiences can be so different?? I've had fabulous CS from BP and everyone I have talked to there has been so polite, friendly & helpful. Rush jobs even GET to me - and I live nowhere - so damned fast it's not funny. Sorry you had stress with your dealings with them. I hate to hear things like this coz then it makes me paranoid for the next time. But so far, excellent so I'll keep using them.
