WildatHeart
Came across this on a website when looking for a horse chiro. OMG!!! I didn't think it was possible to be that physically overweight.

Longclaw
Surely that's photoshopped? I bloody hope so anyway, if it's real the owner needs to be charged with animal cruelty
SpikesPuppy
Sadly I have seen several Cattle dogs around here that look like that as well as a little short-legged Corgi looking dog.
J...
I know a lab who is that big, she weighs something like 50 or 60 kgs. I remember another lab who was a similar size back in my early teens, it belonged to a vet. Was under your feet the whole time scavenging whatever it could from whatever the vet was doing on farm - disgusting and really unhygenic.
spottychick
If that's the dog I think it is I read a few articles about that. The owner was charged but it seems he genuinely didn't know what he was doing (he might have had a mental illness) and clearly loved the dog. The dog is called Barney and has been put on a diet and is being looked after and is much less fat now. LOL Ah here it is Barney's story
Bluefairy
Poor thing. I too see many dogs and cats in the same situation, they struggle to walk and just lay there most of the time.....I am often gobsmacked at how any owner cannot see for themselves that their dog is grossly overweight!!!!! I agree its animal cruelty to allow this.
twodoggies2001
Sadly I have seen several Cattle dogs around here that look like that as well as a little short-legged Corgi looking dog. At the park where I take my boys for a walk and social interaction, there is a man that walks a blue cattle dog, and everytime I see them, it reminds me of a barrel with legs. Sheesh, can't people see what they're doing. Another is a Beagle. I saw her develop from a svelt trim and terrific puppy to now a poor girl who waddles, sits down very often because she has no stamina to keep going. That is just plain and utter cruelty. I am often asked why I don't feed my boys more food, They are not skin and bone, but you can feel their ribs when lightly touched. Just perfect!!!!! spottychick
Not sure jaxx. Couldn't see a photo for a good comparison. I sure hope there's only one - Barney is pretty famous if you do a search on "fat dally" or "obese dally" etc. Oh and thanks for "spotting" me I've been doing a few invisiposts today LMAO

SmoothieGirl
You know its weird I found this thread. I was at a local dog park the other week and came across a woman with a cross breed in pretty trim condition and a huge Dally. Not quite as big as this one, but damn close. She found my treat bag and pretty much sat at my feet with a 'I'm good feed me look'. The woman said "she loves her food, she can have a treat too." I was gagging on my thoughts of 'she bloody shouldn't get any treats and let's not talk about her diet either.' I sidled away with my healthy correctly weighted dog. Edited for punctuation. spottychick
I must admit I have a fat dally atm. But nowhere near this fat. And she's on a diet. I just lost track of her a bit when I was trying to keep some weight on my cancer dog - she sort of got the same kind of food and because he was so sick we didn't exercise enough.... and before I knew it - people were calling her a "coffee table"!! But I promise I never gave her potato chips....
