KitKat
Flying - as i understand it the breed name is "German Shepherd Dog" German shepherds being German people looking after sheep and their herds...lol. Several breeds have that going for them...
BittyMooPeeb
This is a bit off topic, but I have noticed a few posters on here using the abbreviation FWT, and it seems quite popular on facebook, does anyone know what it stands for? I dont know either Daisy? It is used to insult someone? (if so, it might be F**k w*t)
Parkeyre
I was confused about GSD too I must say. I thought it had to be German Shepherd but including the D seems to be stating the bleeding obvious. I've never heard anyone say "My German Shepherd Dog is ....". Not all dog breed abbreviations have D do they? Like BCD or TSD? It's the breed name. German Shepherd Dog beeder etc. Like a Bernese Mountain Dog.. If it wasn't for the added "dog" on the end, you might not know someone is talking about. Other examples: Anatolian Shepherd Dog Australian Cattle Dog Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog Belgian Shepherd Dog Bergamasco Shepherd Dog Bernese Mountain Dog Canaan Dog Canadian Eskimo Dog Central Asian Shepherd Dog Chinese Crested Dog Italian Corso Dog Kangal Dog Maremma Sheepdog Old English Sheepdog Peruvian Hairless Dog (Perro Sin Pelo Del Peru) Polish Lowland Sheepdog Portuguese Water Dog Pyrenean Mountain Dog Shetland Sheepdog White Swiss Shepherd Dog
Parkeyre
This is a bit off topic, but I have noticed a few posters on here using the abbreviation FWT, and it seems quite popular on facebook, does anyone know what it stands for? I dont know either Daisy? It is used to insult someone? (if so, it might be F**k w*t) It's For the win! it's an expression like "I just got a new dress FTW! Years ago it wasn't entusiasm.. it was negative and was used as "Fock the World", which has since been replaced with more common "Fock My Life", or FML ETA: Question: What Is 'FTW'? What Does It Mean? While participating in an online discussion forum about motorcycles, you see this weird expression "FTW". People post phrases like "slipper clutches, ftw!" and "full face helmets, ftw!". You see the same thing in an online gaming forum. The gamer participants are posting phrases like "polymorph, ftw!" and "druid hurricane, ftw!". Answer: In 2010, the most common meaning of "FTW" is "for the win", an Internet expression of enthusiasiam. While there were nastier meanings in previous years, FTW today commonly stands for "For the Win". It is an expression of enthusiasm. "FTW" is the same as saying "this is the best" or "this item will make a big difference, I recommend using it". Examples would include: "anti-lock braking, ftw!", "spellchecker, ftw!", and "low-carb diets, ftw!" Longcoat
"Schaferhund" is the GSD's original name meaning sheep(shepherd) dog in German. German Shepherd Dog is the english translation of German sheepdog
