slk
I'm looking for a pet shop in my vicinity that doesn't sell animals. I want one that has extensive range (bedding, leads, collars, food, etc). I have one near me, in Lysterfield, but their range is very limited. So I always end up going to a pet shop in Ferntree Gully - but they have dogs/cats/birds/lizzards and although the kids love seeing the animals, I just feel sick for these caged animals. But I go because I like the range and I'm a sucker for 'products' (I'm a girl, I shop!). Any suggestions?

You could go to Pets @ Home in FountainGate, all their dogs and cats are rescued ones looking for a new home so your concious can be clearer. Alternatively the petshop by Bunnings in Narre Warren carry a good supply (not sure what it is called). Robbos Pet Barn don't have any animals and have a fair range. Purpley
Paulp, the one near Bunnings is Narre Pets and Produce. They sell pets though. I would recommend Petstock in Cranbourne, or Robbo's in Dandenong. Robbo's is a drive in pet supply store, my kids love that fact.

AussieDog
Robbos Pet Barn in Dandenong is good or there is Pets at Home at Fountain Gate (they sell adopted dogs)
Starkehre
Might be a bit of a drive for you slk, but well worth it... Westernport Pet Supplies in High Street Hastings is a wonderful pet supplies store that is owned and run by a lovely couple. They do not sell any pets at all, they have a vast knowledge on most animals, but dogs are their specialty, as they are reputable, ethical breeders of Rottweilers. I know these people very well and used to work part time in their store. They usually have a dog or 2 in there also, and customers pets are most welcome when shopping or even for visits. Their prices are extremely competative.

Bindii
There's a petstock in Vermont and Mitcham. And there's klassy pets in Ringwood North, I know the owner- registered breeders, very nice, lots of goodies in there that you don't see everywhere else (they're also the only local place i know of that stock the BARF patties) Edited January 25, 2010 by Bindii
