Mad about Oscar
Hi - Oscar, our 6 month old Lab puppy, has been prescribed eye ointment 4 times daily to treat an eye infection (came home from a week in the kennel with kennel cough and the eye infections) - is there a way to apply this without causing stress to him (and to me!) so that we don't end up having to chase him to do it? I would like some tips before I try so that we can make this as simple as possible - if that IS possible Thanks in advance for any advice.
poodlefan
Be matter of fact about it. If the ointment's in the fridge, take it out a few minutes before application. Stick it in and give him a treat or his dinner afterwards.
WreckitWhippet
What she says and also don't stress about how you apply it, as long as you get some in the eyes it's fine.
poodlefan
If you have no idea about how to apply it into the eye, get the vet to show you. It's generally not difficult.
